 QUESTION COMMUNITY.

The infamous Black Eagle Scout suit. It's visual designs are beautiful and nice enough to keep so you can wear it around the lobby but it's most prominent feature is that it has two light weapon slots very much like the Commandos.

My question is this...Should it actually be a specialization? Is it even viable enough for it? If not, would enhancements help it? Would it be better to stick this type of scout, with two light weapon slots, to the Gallente's race only or would it be fair if we gave it to everyone?

I was always on board for some specializations to transcend frame sizes. I love the Black Eagle, but I also love my Commando. So why not simply have our normal Heavy Commando and then create a new Light Commando specialization skill and simply make the suits red highlighted light frames. Afterall, we have Assault Dropships which have the Assault white highlights, we had Scout LAVs which had the Scout blue highlights, and we had Logistics Dropships and Logistics LAVs with the Logistics yellow highlights.

I mean, if specializations to transcend to vehicles (and some to multiple vehicles, like Logistics), then why can't some specializations transcend to multiple frame sizes?

It doesn't have 2 light weapons slots last time I checked- the AR is just a special sidearm.

Also, it doesn't even look unique anymore.

It'd be cool if each race/different factions had their own special suit.

Gallente get the Two Light weaponed scout

Amarr get some kind of cool suit on their own, maybe like a sentinel suit with a built in weapon or something.

There should be a light suit with 2x light weapons but it shouldn't be the black eagle. It should be a light suit specialized for AV. It won't have the scout's stealth so it would rely on speed and range. The 2nd light weapon gives the AV suit the ability to defend itself at range as well.

Commando (Light): +3% effective range of all weapons per level

Amarr Commando (Light): +5% stamina and stamina recovery per level
Caldari Commando (Light): need to think of something
Gallente Commando (Light): need to think of something
Minmatar Commando (Light): +2% sprint speed per level

Basically this suit would be a dual light weapon wielding light frame. It would excel in working the perimeters of maps, hence the range and movement bonuses. It would work great in combination with a light AV weapon.

Some good responses. I'd personally want to have each race to have their own one-of-a-kind specialization suits.

The Gallente with their Light Frame Slayer suit.

The Amarr with some Crusader Medium Suit with lots of armor and equipment or something.

Idk. They could definitely get real crazy with their suits after all of the core stuff's been handled.

You ignore the fact that it also has higher innate shields and a much faster sprint rate. So if you introduce a faster-than-minmatar-scout-scout-with-two-light-weapons-among-them-the-Assault-Rifle-and-shotgun-even-though-it-has-only-like-one-slot-or-something would it be OP?

I think so. I've come across 3 black eagles today alone, one who did VERY well. So I'm thinking not.

 Wait a ******* second

Does the scout skill apply to black eagles? After all it is a Scout G/1 series, just a super special one. Just make it the C series scout, problem solved (but you gotta add back the B series first though....a long awaited return)

A Black Eagle Scout that's hard to scan?

It didn't seem to apply for me during the Black Eagle event. I have Scout lvl 5 and dampner lvl 5, and I was getting lit up by scanners. I don't think that many people had the duvolles out at that time, but maybe that was just an anomaly.

I'll look in-game this evening, by which time a definitive answer will probably be provided.
Those skills absolutely should transfer, but I can imagine it being an oversight.

You know there can be more than just two specializations for each frame size? There could be, but at the moment it seems like 2 is the magic number.
 Heavy/Commando, Assault/Logi, Scout/Pilot(?)
But they already ran a "balance" pass on vehicles, without Pilot suit input, so I'm assuming that those suits are dead.
