I saw the Scout and Sentinel threads, and I thought I might make a logistics thread rather than post in the scattered threads about various changes. You can find the information from SiSi posted in various places now, but you can always look here for reference.
Logistics Suit Bonus: 5% reduction to PG/CPU cost of equipment per level.
Minmatar Logistics Bonus: +10% to repair tool range and 5% to repair amount per level. Gallente Logistics Bonus: +10% to active scanner visibility duration and +5% to active scanner precision per level. Caldari Logistics Bonus: +10% to nanohive max. nanites and +5% to supply rate and repair amount per level. Amarr Logistics Bonus: 10% reduction to drop uplink spawn time and +2 to max. spawn count per level.
Note for comparison, the prior all-logi bonus was +1 hp/s armor repaired per level, a hacking bonus for Minny, armor rep for Amarr, equipment fitting for Gallente, and shield regulators for Caldari (iirc).
This thread is to provide player feedback on the "possible" but not "final" logistics suit bonus changes that are on Sisi.

Role Bonus: CPU/PG fitting reduction. This is, in my mind, perfect for Logistics.
All the others While some of them are good, they seem overly specialised. Specialisation is a good thing, but I think limiting them to specific pieces of equipment is probably not the way to go. Not really sure what I'd suggest as an alternative, I think we need to see the proposed suit slot layouts and stats before. |

I actually like the bonus to equipment fitting, it's in fitting with the logistics role.
Also, while this applies to all suits, I'd prefer having some actual bonus on the basic-frame skills (I detailed that here in Kagehoshi's big suit bonus thread). It gives the basic frame skills value other than being an SP sink/gate to get to a specialist suit. This is fitting with the idea of making said bonus active on specialist suits... like they were sub-suits of the basic-frame (similar to how an Assault Frigate or Interceptor in EVE gets bonuses both from the Racial Frigate skill (analogous to basic-frame) and the Tier-2 ship skill (specialist skill).
Having racial-related tanking skills (and possibly weapon bonuses) on the basic-frames like that frees up the specialist suits to have more interesting and possibly powerful bonuses.
The logistics getting an equipment fitting bonus is sensible. I'm not entirely certain about fixing each race with a bonus to only a certain equipment type, because some equipment is better suited to other roles (like a scout and droplinks, in theory). On the other hand, it makes sense after a fashion to have them excel with the equipment they manufacture. As-is, with nothing like the basic-frame racial skill suggestion in place, it seems like logis are going to take a big hit to survivability.

The problem is we only have these bonuses in isolation, we know nothing else about the suits, whether they will tweak the slots or base stats, or even how the bonuses work.
For example, if I drop an uplink in my amarr logi suit, die, and respawn in lets say a caldari suit, do the bonuses still stay with the equipment? That would make sense but I remember them saying they had to wait to put these bonuses in because it would be hard to recode. Have they fixed it?

I personally like them, though I'm scared of he active scanner precision bonus of the Gallente. I think it should be range (3% per level) instead of precision. I'm wondering if these bonuses for deployables will work, like if you switch t a different suit after deploying them, is the bonus still in effect? What if you deploy it in a non-logi suit, and then switch to a logi suit, would the bonus kick in to the previously deployed equipment? also, do the bonuses say in effect after you die and respawn in the same suit?

PC viability of repair tools is very low... The stream breaks around corners, and sometimes even when close to a wall. Active Scanners with extreme precision and duration is the best only way to go... and 1 second uplinks... omg... Or advanced uplinks better than proto due to the Amarr bonus? i have a feeling the devs honestly think Minmatar is the whipping boy as it seems they just give the worst bonus and considerations to the Minmatar suits.
Caldari and Gallente Logistics remain FOD (flavor of Dust)... albeit, Gallente only since the armor buff |

What? doesn't make sense if gal scout gets bonus to dampening then why do gal logi get precision? its like gallantes are messed up and killing each other...

The current Gallente Logi will be a shadow of the coming Caldari...
2x Triage + 2x Allotech = 275... they can even add in compact to get another 62 hp/second.
That is taking half damage... think nanohive spam is bad now? Wait for this patch. |

Also equipment may be much harder to fit based on what CCP Remnant said, and there are changes to base stats of suits we're not aware of according to CCP Logibro, so I'm not even sure they could fit all that anyway.

None of the equipment efficacy bonuses make any sense. The rep tool goes to the suit that can armor or shield tank, the nanohive bonus to the suit that has the least need of armor reps and the scanner seems more like an assault piece of equipment than one that a logi should base his fitting around. The changes to the Assault class should fix any logi slayer issues people are having (not like it really ever was an issue). The reasoning behind a logi not being able to kill is unconscionable (whiners) and only has any real traction because the assault class has sucked so badly for such a long time. Personally I don't think the logistics class should be changed at all. If it really is necessary I am sure people will know after seeing how the assault suits work after they have been changed. Wouldn't it be a terrible thing if all the suits were changed at once and the Logi class all of a sudden was perma-nerfed because of a bunch of assault QQ?

I'm worried that the equipment bonus won't actually be a bonus at all. If I'm right the PG/CPU requirements of equipment is about to raise so high Logi's will need the new 'buff' just to use their tools. That sounds pretty much in line with what I've been hearing about the scout's new cloak 'skill bonus'.
I am a little upset that we're loosing the free complex armor rapper. And for Gal Logi's that bonus to scan toolsGǪits a powerful tool and I bring it with me, butGǪweren't scouts QQ'ing that there was 1 prototype variant scanner that they will never beat? |
