It's pretty easy to have a lot of WP, actually, nothing to do with being "a true logi", tbh.
I personally, as a full on support logi for over a year, have no problem dying a lot to secure my team's victory, but I'd prefer dying just after I finish a hack, not just before... Just saying.
The overall Logi bonus is great, it's awesome, I don't know what CCP was smoking when they decided not to make that the Logi bonus from the start... but the racial ones are boring and plain unbalanced.

The Gal Logi is actually fairly unchanged.
Most everyone has no problem with the actual Logi bonus change, and many actually like it. But, some people... some logis, have a problem with the racial bonuses not because they aren't good, but because they are too different and specialized.
That is why some people, including myself, are upset about the proposed Logi bonuses.
To be fair, the Cal logi, armour tanking and carrying his own rep hives? Will still be very combat effective, just not very logi like (so, no change there lol). And the Gallente bonus is a massive "**** you" to Scouts in particular, and to anyone who invested SP into dampening in general. Well, unless they make scanners next to useless for anyone else. So, that's also awesome.
Have you considered installing the improved keyboard?

And, I have to add, anyone thinking the Cal and Gall Logi bonuses are useless, isn't clearly very familiar with Dust... 
Grenade spam anyone? Now with 50% more grenades per hive? That replenishes them faster? Oh sweet, cause we needed more of that. And it sure helps that the grenade spammer can sit on a nest of rep hives to boot, epic! So, break out your own grenades to counter, let's play Nades514!
And lol at your stealth suits. There's a gallente logi on the other team? "You have been scanned, biaaatch!"
