Here's what I don't get, this community screams for change, and when we get it we reject it without even trying it out...
Take 1.7:
The vehical respec, everyone wanted this. Even non-tankers and non-pilots were saying show them some love. Well boys, you got your 3 weeks of jagging off in pub matches and steam rolling everyone. Hope those 5 months of insignificance were worth the past 3 weeks. NERF INC. AV will get buffed, and we will begin again.
I will admit, weeks one and two of 1.7 I was burnt out of this game. Tank spam, tank spam, RR up my ass, tank spam. But the last 2 weeks? I can't believe I'm going to say this, outside of the NUMBER of tanks on the field in an AMBUSH, vehicles are balanced.
Swarms need a bit of a range buff OR a lock on timer reduction, but not both. AV grenades, maybe slight dmg, but not much. Teamwork you assholes, teamwork is the new AV. And it is FREE.
CCP, leave vehicles where they are, in PC they are balanced. Maybe increase the ISK cost SLIGHTLY of tanks, greatly of MLT tanks. Nerf the cpu/pg of the MLT tank. Done. You're welcome community.

Accept it, we are the test server. 90% of you idiots were screaming tanks would be UP for 1.7 even with the numbers and modules staring you in the face, and guess what? You couldn't have been more wrong.
Give the new bonuses a chance. Assaults:
TTK is getting a makeover: Both Gallente and Caldari are getting significant increases to their HP pools with the skills. Amarr, you have outlandish starting CPU/PG, don't be greedy. Sit on your proto repper hives with proto mods and proto weaps and use cover, love your Alpha damage hits and learn to play w/o your laser weap crutch you scrubs. Minmatar, truly the glass cannon's on the field now. Fast, hit n run flanker never more than 700ehp, and only proto main weap due to very limited cpu/pg.
The racial suit skills will go much further than just trying to eliminate Logi slayers or dual tankers.
If 1.8 holds a suit respec (we've been crying for many of these changes far less than RESPEC and we are getting these, why would we not get one????) Then NO ONE can *****.
Instead of whining about YOUR SUIT being changed, adapt, and give it a chance. Think about how these changes could affect the other issues the community has addressed such as TTK.
Also, thank god downtime will bring a reprieve from equipment spam!!!!!!!
Guys, you wanted change, give it a chance. It can't get any worse!

First off, swarm launchers need a damage buff AND a small range buff if they ever hope to be considered anything but a joke. Second, how many players does it take to drive a tank? One, right? That means it should take one dedicated AV merc to take out a HAV. Until HAVs require teamwork to operate, AV should not require teamwork to operate.

It could be worse...good post...This is why CCP witholds info from us until they are absolutely sure they are releasing it. People freak out and trash it before even seeing what the patch notes look like. CCP cant make everyone happy, thats impossible with this um..."unique" community, so I agree we need to just chill and see what happens. |

Seriously? 1 good AVer can take a MLT tank out no prob, flux, then swarm. Either put a FG overwatch on the field and spam your AV nades, or call a tank in and wipe the tank out?

Cal assaults are getting an additional 66hp if they run 4 complex extenders. with the RoF increase I would hardly call this significant. TTD (time to die) will be virtually unchanged in their case. |

Not having a lot of luck taking out tanks with AV grenades actually. Even with hardeners down the HAV just giggles when the grenades hit it.
I run medium Caldari dropsuits primarily. Are you saying I need to dump SP into heavy dropsuits/forge guns to counter one specific vehicle? No one sees a problem with that? Essentially you are saying, "HAVs are easy to kill, just grind for several weeks and completely change your playstyle."

See the OP. Get a team, get a squad. If you cannot utilize teamwork in this game, then you will eventually quit from frustration. Sooner rather than later. Join a corp.
I'm saying that you are correct. It is not easy for YOU to burn down an HAV. It is very easy for you and your squad (really one or two others) to take 3 minutes, get to a supply depot, organize a blitzkrieg and destroy an HAV. |

I'm in a corp and I routinely squad up. I know the value of squad mates and teamwork. You are preaching to the choir.
What I am trying to tell is that this is bullshit. Having an entire squad (or half of one at least) drop what they are doing to take out ONE ******* GUY IN A VEHICLE is nonsense and you know it. That is not balanced, that does not a good game make.

Now you're thinking!!!! Lol, that's the great part is we will actually face decisions as to what to put in the Highs in this build. It is not so cut and dry anymore!
25% of 66 = 16.5, x4 = 66. Pretty significant.

Also as Caldari though, if you NEED the ehp, like Minmatar don't be so afraid of an armor plate, low fitting costs....It will add a lot more diversity to the fits we can make. (I'm minmatar btw). |
