Don't ever let the playstyle police pressure you into taking away sandbox gameplay. Never ever! <3 <------This is how I feel about you right now. Just because it isn't literally game breaking anymore, doesn't mean that 'mechanic' that enables proper equipment spam (ie. swapping suits get effectively have as much equipment slots as you want) is anything other than broken. thats why i blow up supplly depots
Which is also a sandbox mechanic. Good for you. |

Spartan MK420 wrote:12 uplinks, 7 hives, is all the equipment that any one single player should ever need to have active at one given time. 12 uplinks is a bit excessive ... 7 hives is the maximum you can drop from 2 slots since the guaged proto (if I recall) has 4 active and the others have 3, so 7 total is about right.
Uplinks however have a proto that can have 3 active and the others are 2 ... so keeping the 2 slots worth of active equipment you should only be allowing 5 active uplinks per person.
Once you reach your personnal limit, that shouldn't stop you placing any more, since these things usually have a max carried and a max active, so if you want to drop more uplinks or hives your first one just goes pop, just like they do already when you place more of the same type but it should apply to all hives and all uplinks. |

I still notice some. There was approximately 5 equipment pieces give or take around a skirmish control node building. Thank you for focusing on this!

Just had a FW match where both sides spammed equipment enough to make the minimap glow brighter than the sun (I helped in the supply depot room for testing purposes then fluxed em all afterwards and got tk'd by the lag bomber I annoyed lol) and I didn't see any lag. However PC will be the ultimate test.

What's the purpose of the extra logi slots if a player can just change suits at a supply depot and get more equipment, you ask? Let's try this analogy out for size...
Why might a customer still be motivated to buy the large soda at dining establishments that offer free refills?
1. Because I want to. Choice is a beautiful thing.
2. Because it's more convenient for me to have an abundance of soda at once, which makes me less reliant on needing to get refills.
The logi has a large cup, gets large refills, and enjoys the utility that comes with having those advantages. In order to perform the same amount of logistical activity, non-logis have to take their small cup to the fountain machine many more times, which robs time away from activities more suited to their class. Also, the logi deserves his or her large cup because he or she paid a lot of SP and ISK to enjoy those special advantages.

Did some PC matches and the enemy spammed the hell out of equipment. I DID NOT LAG! Even better is that there was a re-up on the district so I decided to not turn off my ps3 and restart to fight lag. Match was just like a pub, NO LAG!! *starts dancing*.

I can confirm Palatinate's observations.
We played against a bunch of VC and KEQ and one OH guy tonight on the 4 point city map with rings. There were no shortage of uplinks on the field.

This hot fix might have just been the biggest improvement in the game in a long time. We all love extra features but fixing the broken state of PC battles that has been there since the start is huge. It will be interesting to see how some corps do with these changes.
Edit: to clarify there are many more PC issues, but this was the biggest battle affecting one.

Seemed better in the PC for me however some others still had lag.
I will say there are some new noises when people die, equipment shot etc. The sound seems to get stuck and repeat.

Negative, you can't have enough proto uplinks in pc. they get cleared out as soon as you deploy them, there are 5 types of proto uplinks, all having 2 max active besides one that allows 3, so 12 is good, if not 13. Anything over your maximum amount of proto uplinks/hives is when the spam is just too much. maybe 7 hives isn't enough after all, considering 2 wyk, 2 allotek, 3 isukone, still leaves 4 more proto hives that you can have deployed. So 13/11 should suffice. |

I agree that the lag reduction is most important , which is why I would like to hear of more people experiences from PC after the patch was applied. (I have seen both positive and negative reports)
However, with the amount of bashing CCP generally gets on these forums, I think they deserve some hype/credit when it's due
