I understand scouting is becoming mainstream (This is Snow Turtle btw), but I really enjoy it, as I stated above. I will definitely be speccing into LAV's, but that is going to happen later in the future. For now, I will just get my core upgrades up and prepare for my beloved Caldari Scout(Been waiting for this since I started playing this game).
I'm thinking Combat Rifle/Magsec SMG with Cloak and a Compact Nanohive.
Sounds like a plan just be wary of future Nerf to cr
Logibro has confirmed damage nerf to RR, and said that was not all that is getting hit. This has led me to assume that all rifles, with the addition of a few other weapons, are going to get hit.
Hopefully this damage nerf is the only thing that hits the CR, but if it gets hit in another way that does not ruin it I won't mind.
I don'know if you plan on taking me as a scouting apprentice now, but I do not think that is very necessary. I was a pretty good minja but this whole rifle-scout thing is kinda weird to me, so I may need some simple assistance.
Talk to you eventually.

Its fairly contradictory To use both unless you have some super scanning fetish.

Judging by your comment on the damage mods, you haven't seen the updated bonuses, they were posted in the Dropsuit Stats and Skills posted by CCP. |

Is it? Dang, guess I'm going to have to make a new character...... again. I have already skilled into SMG and Flaylock Pistol, so new character it is. You are probably going to have to teach me how to use the MD, cause I have not used it a lot before. Also where did you see that the mass driver is getting buffed? |

Tactical Assault Rifle Perch Found The Outpost At: (10-11, F-G) Intersection How: Climb the stairs to the platform near the pipes.
This corner is an amazing little scout nook. It overlooks the outpost entrance at 12-13, E (Entrance A) and at 12-13, F (Entrance B), giving more focus on entrance B because it is closer. It is right beside the objective, just a stone's throw away so you can hop onto the nullcannon and pop your pistol at some fools. If you are standing at this perch looking at Entrance B head on, you have somewhere around 40 meters of clearance between you and you have LOS over entrance A as well but it's a good 50+ meters out so most assault rifle damage is negated to degree. But as long as some allies are defending the objective area, Entrance A people will not prioritize you until you start shooting, but at least you'll get the significant jump.
The corner has some guards so you are offered a shield to hide behind when you need to. A tank popped onto the landing pad and started shooting me after I had firmly defended the entrances for a while upon first discovery. I simply crouched and backpedaled towards the pipes. Do not stand directly on the corner, be a good few paces back from both sides so that when you crouch you don't accidentally expose some hitbox area.
However (still looking at entrance B) to your right down low are two flights of stairs down to the street. This is you're underbelly, monitor it well. The Tact. Scout fit I gave in the OP is what I still use now. So the complex range amplifier really helped alert me when enemies were down on the street. If they climb the first flight of stairs, pull out the KLO and set yourself between boxes. If they're still down on the street and further, across the street, use the TAR.:
Method
Set you're ADS sensitivity rather high for the tactical assault rifle. So you get the quicker response but maintained accuracy that you want from the Tactical Assault rifle at those shorter ranges. If you have it right, you'll be close enough in range that you can pull the trigger as fast as you want and get the maximum DPS out of it. At those closer ranges you need to compete and at maximum RPM, the TAR out dps' (damage per second) the Assault Rifle.
I would recommend getting rapid reload in your assault rifle if you want to prioritize the TAR. It only has an 18 shot clip and you have 300 shots, that's a lot of reloading. The normal AR only has 5 clips. This has over 16 clips.
Down low to the left is a connecting path funneled between to blocks that leads to the stairs to your perch. It is a really nice pistol range because there's not a whole lot of strafing room and it looks down upon it's targets, making headshots that much easier. I would consider it a vulnerable point, but it's within scanning radius so I use that extra alarm time to line up shots down that path before they get there and watch them approach on passive scan and open up the fight with your counterattack, ironically.
Weak Spots. The Path mentioned above. Entrance B sidepath that goes behind a block. It is within scanning range though. Pipes Behind. Heaven forbid a scout get behind you from the building. Street. As long as you visually check it in reasonable patterns you can be fine.

1) This grants me intel in-between scans as I don't spam. 2) Don't actually use a range mod on this fit (forgot to mention that) but I do on a spate fit which utilizes a flux scanner.
Full Stealth fit from left>right counter clockwise:
shield extender x2 (Reduced threat from falls) AR (aggression if necessary) KN (Self defense and tactical kills) Flux nades (Counter equipment, scares tanks, debufs infantry) Quantum scanner (Intel gathering) Profile dampener (stealth) Codebreaker (espionage)
(After 1.8) Cloak field (Stealth) 2nd Profile dampener (Stealth)
^ Talk about stealth tanked lol
