I agree, but in the plasma cannon response, CCP said they don't have the coding support to implement such a mechanic

Vehicles used to have armor burn (not just the animation- armor actually went down while you were on fire).

When I first read the description for the toxin SMG, more than a year ago now, I thought it was going to be a DOT weapon. I stilL remember trying it out the first time and thinking wtf it doesn't work.

We call it ODOT here. Ohio Department of Transportation and with some of their projects it feels like inflicted damage over time.
Wasn't the Devs loosely looking at giving the plasma cannon this feature? If supporting DoT means getting a Heavy Flame (Plasma) Thrower then count me in!
