I know a lot of people will be upset about the hacking bonus being lost for minmatar logi...what if it became "minmatar logistics proficiency"?
And then we could add other passive skill bonuses to dropsuits, like the minmatar assault having a speed bonus for its preficiency. Baiscally passives to the suits and not to items equipped onto the suits, since the new bonuses are mostly item based.

For example, minmatar medium frame should have a bonus on hacking, i can say 3% per level, if you have lvl.5, it's a 15%, it's not 25%, but still good. Then you will have the 15% on both assault and logi.
This isn't a bad idea either, I'll add it to the OP.
The frames should get some love too.

Then it wouldn't be suit specialization really. The idea here is to keep some of the cool role bonuses that some suits get right now in the game for those specific suits. If it was a bunch of separate skills things would just become a disaster unless you could only skill into one of them.
For instance, having a heavy with the hacking bonus, and the amarr laser bonus, and something else...
If you were worried about sp cost, I'd say it would be just the same as weapon proficiency or any of the current passive bonuses we have for all dropsuits (like the normal hacking bonus or the pg/cpu bonuses). level 3 is easy to get into, but level 5 takes some dedication.
And they don't have to be the same bonuses either, just as long as they keep the cool, unique ones.

Oh, and then a 50% increase to range means I'll be healing 30-50 meters away. I could effectively sit on top of a small structure and heal people fighting on the ground.
As for the core focused, the extra 5 meters will remove the only downside to the equipment. The extra armor that assaults will be getting, and the damage reduction on heavies will mean that I can keep more people alive simply by keeping the beam on them, and 220 means I can heal them up and get rewards even faster.
The loss of the passive armor repair isn't too much of an issue for me since the extra reduction in cpu/pg to my equipment will actually let me run my healing hives along with a decent repair tool, while still having the same module setup.
