You should join our channel "Commando Squadron"
We have around 8 or so really active Commandos and even once got a full 6 man commando squad together 
Anyways, Commandos are already getting their racial skilled changed to essentially a free complex light damage mod, so there's some loving. Also CCP Logibro said some suits will be getting updated HP, PG, CPU, Slots, etc. So I am really hoping that the Commando gets a little extra CPU/PG and one extra low slot across all tiers (so 0 H 1 L at standard, 1 H 2 L at advanced, 2 H 2 L at prototype). But who knows, maybe I'm pushing it too much.
Oh and my personal tips for using a Commando is to a) Use a shield energizer and b) get Nanocircuitry 5 and fit a Wirykomi Triage Hive as your equipment. The moment I did that my performance skyrocketed.

(give it a second and you should be able to figure out what each letter stands for)

My favorites right now are RR/CR,Scanner, ComplexPlates and LigtDamModifier. Or RR and Swarmers to keep 'em tankers busy :) o7
I wish I could run a scanner on my commando so bad, but I just don't trust that someone will be able to heal me (and not many people have Wirykomi Triage Hives). But that's why Commandos work together. Like just a few hours ago I was in a Commando squad with Wurm Food here and he'd be scanning the area for us and I'd be dropping the hives when we take heavy fire. Works pretty well.
