It's called feedback. Many of us are simply expressing our concerns, some even providing possible alternatives. To those who are simply freaking out and not providing clear and thorough feedback as to why, just chalk it up as negative feedback and move along.
You can't not seek customer feedback because a few people may freak out or you're afraid no one will like it. That's why you tell us the information early. I know nothing listed is finalized, but nonetheless can you imagine if CCP released stuff this major without telling us until the last second? That what you need to worry about CCP. Telling us info now, having the doomsdaysayers freak out now, and gathering your customer feedback is what you need to be doing now before anything is finalized. Trust me, we've all seen how bad things get when told at the last minute. At least now you'd be able to take in some feedback and the haters will have had some time to accept it.

Feedback is constructive.
Half of the threads are people just flipping out.
There is some excellent feedback threads, but a vast majority is this widespread panic. It's actually kind of funny.
And the fact that the Devs knew that this would happen is flat out hilarious.

Thing is, CCP didn't tell us anything. They just put some files in the SiSi server, which is a test server and everyone freaks out and threatens CCP with account cancellations and virtual rampages. The SiSi has a lot of other things too that have been there for years and never seen the light of day, so anything you see in that server should be taken with a heavy grain of salt. And as Kaisar said, feedback is good, rage threads are not.
Also, undue panic should be put as a check just for the nature of how this information was discovered.

I know it's a test server, but the only reason things are put on the test server is to get our feedback. Ignore the people freaking out and focus on the people providing constructive feedback. For example, look at the Assault bonuses on the test server and look at my constructive feedback here https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=134412&find=unread
Perhaps that will influence what gets put in the actual update in some way, but clearly a lot of people do not like the listed Assault bonuses so hopefully given that load of negative feedback they will be able to change it to at least anything else before it gets put in an update.

That's perfectly fine, I don't mind that and I pointed this out. But more than half the threads here seem to be more mindless raging and senseless threats to CCP than actual constructive feedback, not to mention all the cynicism going on about CCP screwing up anyway.
Really, this entire community is one of the worst ones I have ever been to.

But that's why they hire community managers. Their job is to filter through all the mindless raging and senseless threats and find the constructive feedback.

This is why I think the CPM should have at least been told 24 hours in advance, they can't really do anything about it but it would have prepared them for what was to come and it would have given us, if nothing else, a feeling that we are involved and in the end that is all most of us want.

The OP is right. There is entirely too much undue panic here. Even if we assume that these numbers are final, there's a lot of missing information. Feedback is fine, but people do need to cool their jets just a tad until more infos are available.

My new theory, founded purely on my own gut feeling, is that the more rampant speculation and premature rage quitting a release has the better it is. This next release, whatever it will be called, is shaping up nicely and it hasn't even left the planning stage.
