Hey there, I have some ideas that I would like the community to discuss. Maybe it has already been posted somewhere but there is already to much for me to read on here.
So, I believe we ALL want to see PVE in dust, and I think it can be directly connected to PC and to Factional game play.
First idea, if your corp owns districts I believe you should be able to Que into them at any given time, you own them, why not be able to traverse them. So, while your not in a PVP PC while traversing them, you should be able to do PVE on them such as mine to make more money for you..and your corp through tax and skill points. Just as on eve, while you are mining, Drones or some sort of enemy should spawn to mess with you, making it so that you need to go in there with a squad or a full 16man team.
PC owned planets, should produce more loot if your corp owns it, this will give newer and poorer players a chance and a break of getting wrecked in normal game play. It will also allow newer players a chance to run with more experienced players, and make some iskies fighting NPCs. There should be different tier levels for this PVE on each of your districts, so your team and Que into easy medium or hard, each with its respective pays outs PER wave.
This will make owning PC planets more meaningfull, and guess what, if your districts locked, you cant pve on it!
Now, second phase of this...is, have a separate skill point tree. Make it so there is PVE skill points. The more time spent and time spent mining or PVE gets them more points to skill into. Make it so it does NOT count towards their pvp skill points. This will create a direct separation between being good at pvp and pve, but during pve you can still bring in your pvp gear.
This will then create a new class within Corps, the PVE guys/money makers. They may be totally horrible at gun game, but can be a vital link If they are skilled into mining.
Now, if your corp does NOT own a district, or you are not part of a large corp, I believe there should be the options for others to Que into factional PVE. Where they load into the tier of PVE with a squad or randoms and they can do the exact same thing, just with a lower pay out.
This will also make joining a large corp and team work/alliance more of a cruicial factor.
In order for this to work tho, we need to open up another system so that smaller corps get a chance to fire it up with out larger ones being up in their face, have different districts and areas worth more then others to create wars.
You can also create a cool down or...to stop people from continuously farming it, have each wave of PVE NPCS get harder and harder.
ALSO YOU CAN CREATE PVE BOOSTERS...hehe :p

I like the connection with PC districts idea, but no need for a separate skill tree. PVE is meant to be a way for new players to gain SP early on with out having to be thrown into matches against the 20+ million SP vets.

Nice ideas m8y i was also thinking it would be cool if we make our own clones with our own Corp symbols on them , that way players can buy sell , and make cash for corp ect |

I think that a "mining gun" type skill tree would be good, but generally disagree with "separate" skill trees if it goes too far.
I think that your articulation of a location and rational for PVE is very good. It would make dusties more likely to form meaningful relationships with each other to allow farming of the PVE assets contained on the world.

mining in a mmofps??.. uggghh no.
and no to making it for the PC area.
and here is why.. pve should be designed that you fight either rogue drones, sleepers or pirate NPC's
sleepers is for the WH people to have the option to have members in corps/alliances in worm holes to still have a way to make sp/isk/loot from sleepers that is then used in EVE industry to build gear that we in dust can then buy. think dead space/WH gear for us to use.. special shields and armor mods, damage mods for vehicles and other vehicle gear. all that stuff is built by people in eve and sold to people in dust..
rogue drones and pirate npc's would be available throughout all of new eden.. from high sec to null. they would have levels 1-4 in high and low sec and level 5 in null sec. level of difficulty and there fore level of reward would be based on standing with EVE corps. level 1 would be the 1000 point SP pool where level 4 the most common would be in the 10-15k SP pool range plus SP from killing NPC's. level 5 would be rare and would be a 25K plus SP pool and high isk payouts with chances at officer gear BPO drops
and as a nasty twist.. people in the lowsec and null sec space can find you on the planet and then can launch a orbital insertion CRU into your mission.. yes we would have the possibility of being ganked by other dust players and their support ships in space. So you would also need some sort of EVE support in those missions or run the risk of being found and ganked
and I say pool here because the SP would be split between the number of players in the matches.. got a proto suit you can probably solo all level 1 and 2 sites. level 3 would be squad sized events and level 4 would need at least a squad and possible support of a tank and/or drop ship. level 5 would be a beast and would require at least 2 full squads if not a full team deployment.
complex DED sites in EVE would also be present levels from 1/10 to 10/10. 1/10 would be super easy and you would get like 1500 sp and 250k isk and a % chance at loot drops. this would skill up to the 10/10 sites which require whole teams of players with vehicle support. the sites would also have the escalation % chance for them and would have officer chance % spawns in them, would also support ganking in lowsec/null
and finally the bane of all dust mercs.. SANSHA incursions. these would have the same levels of difficulty of EVE 1-4. 1 would be easy to solo where level 4 sites would be very hard in that every last enemy npc would be a full out level 5 max skilled proto using monster that was a former dust character that has been taken over by sansha kuvlakai.. hmm spelling?? And this would also have ganking in lowsec/null. and would require actual comms in the missions to coordinate.
the reason to do them is that these PVE missions would give you also loyalty points with the parent company for the high low and null sec agent mission that can be used to get some nice gear from them. the DED sites would give officer level gear as loot drops and the sansha ones would give LP for the concord store.. think nice new vehicles to either own or sell, some specialty suits to combat sansha infected mercs etc.
dust is a shooter with MMO ties into EVE online. yes some kind of resource gathering would be nice, but I would more suggest a loot drop system that can have a LAV run around and loot the NPC wrecks.. yeah have a way to loot dead NPC tanks, LAVS and DS's.. that stuff then can be used, sold or reprocessed into base minerals/items that can be then made into vehicles and equipment.

I wouldn't mind introducing the ability to PvE in your own district to defend it from hordes of Rogue Drones while also roaming around mining with a specialized LMV (light mining vehicle) of sorts.
You could also introduce another twist to the whole mix and allow it to be more open world so that randoms who snuck into low-sec or null-sec might be able to harass PvE runners while the district is not under attack. The randoms won't be able to take over the district, but they can cause a headache to the owners. A thorn on their side so to speak.
OK, CCP. When are knives finally going to be improved?

They could do PVE many ways, I just know from talking to many, that the ability to PVE on districts you OWN would be greatly appreciated and would boosts corps WANT and NEED to own certain districts. Say you went into the PVE phase with...16 players, and all of you go miner/producer or what ever job you can do there, and enemy NPS drop in and you all get slaughtered...not fun, so you will have to find the perfect balance between miners and defenders. The more miners you have, the more yield but the harder the NPS would be for defenders, and vice versa.
Also, currently, districts produce residual income, how about...they DONT, unless your corp reaches a certain quota. This will give guys a focus and reason that will benifit their corp. Also, funny enough, will also work as a way of punishment for some...team killed in PC battle...To the mines with you! haha

I can agree to a lot of this, except the idea of separate skill pools. Bad, bad idea. In Eve there is one common pool for everything and it should be the same here. The resulting PVE expansion of the skill list will be punishment enough. And we already have a semi-PVE set of corporation skills. One pool is the way to go.
Also mining would be difficult to pull off. Mining in Eve is a largely AFK activity for many. I expect it would become the same here. Sometimes I do it while playing Dust because you just find a rock, point a laser at it and wait. And wait. And wait... I could see them creating a system of resource harvesting similar to Planetary Interaction in Eve, where you coordinate the actions of mining drones to harvest from your districts passively while you go and do more interesting things.
I think (long long-term goal) that there should be a crafting system in Dust as well. If they truly want to link the economies, they should let Dust players get in on the trading/contracting game too. Economic PVP is part of Eve's charm, and should be part of Dust's as well. Plus it would make some Eve players have fits.
As for missions vs Drones, Empire/Faction swarms and Sansha, I say yes to all the above. Every time I go to fight for True Power I feel a little smile, as if I'm contributing to the Master's designs.
