You'll probably need to mess with your browser zoom a bit to read it all, as it's a fairly large image. Everything you need to know is included right there, but in case you can't follow I'll explain.
- Dropsuit Command remains a 1x skill and works as normal.
- There are no longer a Light, Medium, and Heavy skill for each race but rather just one that unlocks all races basic Light, Medium, and Heavy dropsuits. The Skill Point multiplier is also reduced from 4x to 2x.
- There are no longer a Scout, Assault, Logistics, Sentinel, or Commando skill for each race but rather one that unlocks all the races selected role suit. This Skill Point multiplier is reduced from 8x to 3x, but requires Level 5 of the previous skill. Also it only provides the class bonus to the suit, no racial bonuses.
- There are new skills added for each race at each role. These have a Skill Multiplier of 5x and are unlocked at Level 1 of the previous skill. These skills do not unlock anything, as you've already unlocked the suits from the previous skill. Rather, it applies the racial bonus to the suits.
Currently, the frame size skills are 4x and the role skills are 6x, adding up to a combined 10x. What I did is simply took that same 10x and broke it down into three skills instead of two. As you can see, 2x + 3x + 5x = 10x. What this does is makes the suits much more accessible to new players earlier on. For instance, it will only take a little over 600,000 SP for a new player to get his or her first prototype suit. Additionally, it unlocks all racial suits at once giving players more options but also keeps the idea of specializing into one races specific role suit with the added 5x skills that add the racial bonus. This is very similar to how the vehicle command skill tree works and should help reduce demands for respecs as you have all races suits unlocked, even if they are not yet released. Of course, a major change like this to the infantry skill tree would likely have to come with an infantry-only respec.
Thoughts?

IGÇÖm all for skilling into new stuff as IGÇÖve run out of things to skill into (I don't want to do vehicles on this toon) but I don't think they should be a x5 skills seeing as it only costs 1,554,600 SP tp get to level 5.
I know the point of this is to reduce the amount of SP required but I think x5 is way to low and itGÇÖll just make it so everyone is skilled into everything, which will make each class not a niche trade anymore.... Maybe a x6 or x7 is better?
P.S. I like your flow chart :)

First glance. The 5% to shield recharge is still pointless for Gallente Assault.

P.S. I like your flow chart :) The 5x skills don't unlock the role specific suits, 3x skills do. But look at it through the numbers. The 5x skills simply provide the racial bonuses. Currently, it takes 2.7 million skill points to get a prototype role specific suit. Through this redesigned skill tree, if you want a prototype role specific suit with full racial bonuses, it would take you a bit over 3 million SP. So actually, this new skill tree makes it cost more SP (only slightly) if you want to be fully specialized, but less to get into the shallow end of the suits.

I was just listing the skill bonuses that are currently in the game. I definitely agree the Assault class bonus should be changed.

CCP should really look at this. Would make the skill tree a lot better.
Doesnt matter in Dust 514: PC. FW Standing. Tanking Type. Other mods than DMG or HP.
Does matter in Dust 514: Rifles.

I prefer the progression being Race -> Frame -> Class as opposed to Frame -> Class -> Race as you have. The former allows a player to more quickly branch out into different roles (though they would have to be of a single race to maximize the SP efficiency). The latter is useful if you are wanting all of the racial variants in a class, but generally there is enough overlap in roles between different races in the same class that I doubt most people will prioritize getting a different variant of the suit their main suit.

The latter actually allows you to quickly branch out into different roles opposed to the former because this set up reduces the amount of skill points required to get into suits at the low general level while slightly increasing the amount of skill points to specialize. If I recall, that is exactly what CCP said they want to do.

Bumping. This proposal would be a solution to the argument that for new players who wish to be scouts it takes too long to viably fit cloaks.

This would mean that it would be fairly quick to get a proto dropsuit. It would be a basic proto frame though.
Not sure how I feel about newberries rocking proto suits... It just means they'll be harder to kill :( lol

A sad day for protostompers it would be Of course, newberries still wouldn't have the ISK to run it full time or all the skills that really maximize the fit's potential

Looks like it is punishing heavy frames, since we have to go further into the skill to get to where we want to go, means more SP.
Thanks CCP Foxfour
