DUST CHARACTER: Spartacus Dust EVE CHARACTER: Matthew Dust
My platform is simple
One Universe//One War.
I want to work on making it a reality. Even if not elected I would like the following things to be recognized by future CPM candidates:
1. Orbital Bombardment Module for EVE; EVE players should be able to use different ammo types in ANY ship, without being restricted to small turrets. This would mean they can still PVP and provide the type of support that the Dust players need without having to reship.
2. Satellite Uplink, meaning EVE players can see the battlefield via an equipment that a Dust player would set up
3. Shuttle Launch; with the new expensive and possibly non viable warbarge, I'd like to see a way for a limited amount of Dust players to be launched to the district via Shuttle. Just like in the trailer
4. OPEN MARKET, EVE players and DUST players need to be able to exchange isk.
5. Allow EVE players to manufacture things for DUST players.
6. Planetary Interaction Bonuses for EVE players
7. Give Dust players a way to Hurt EVE players, The planetary cannon, like in the trailer
8. If you get POS Shields down, let Dust Mercs capture the POS via PVE
9. BRING THE JET FROM THE OLD DUST TRAILER
10. BIGGER MAPS, MORE PLAYERS
If elected to CPM I promise I will work hard for these things. |

Bear D'Grassi wrote:It seems to me that the majority of the things you mention in your post are things more readily worked on by the CSM rather than the CPM? 5 of your top 6 are solely for the benefit of EVE players. I understand that you are looking for a much greater integration between the two platforms but this is something that will take quite some time in my opinion. The next CPM would be better served concentrating on issues that directly benefit Dust players primarily. Where do you stand on improving gameplay? How about the fact that we are still waiting on full racial parity with regards to dropsuits and weapons? I would much rather have this before the Jet from the old trailer or the planetary cannon!
Yes my primary focus is linking the two games together. Currently the vast majority of EVE players have no reason to fight for DUST players other than they want too, there is no REAL incentive for them to participate other than maybe some kill mails if they drop orbitals, there is no benefit to helping Dust players that couldn't be achieved through other means, except maybe in Faction Warfare with helping change the system.
I want Dust players to have a way to interact more with EVE players, the market, hurting EVE players, EVE players actually benefiting from having mercs in their alliance.
That being said
Gameplay increases are going to come reguardless of CPM intervention, 1.7 is already testament to that, improved graphics, constant weapon rebalancing, added weapons, and new drop suits. These things are a guarantee to happen, and I will listen to the forum members and players to bring any other issues to light that they believe needs fixing.
If you watched the PC 2.0 presentation from EVE Vegas, you can see that CCP intends to take CCP into a more hardcore direction, a direction that doesn't directly benefit the people who would be risking hundred million or billion isk ships to drop off clones, this could essentially kill Planetary Conquest as we know it if something isn't done.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, YES THIS IS A JOB FOR THE CSM, but let's be real, do you honestly think that the Nullsec CSM actually care about the development in linking the two games, I can tell you that they didn't appear to for the past year, most of the CSM people I talked to were like DUST? I haven't played that since it launched. Not to mention my chances of getting elected to CSM against the Nullsec Alliances are slim, here they are at least a little better.

Actually, I think you're wrong. I can summon a fleet to Molden Heath, but nobody wants to go to MH, because there's no chance of combat. Many EVE players want good fights, and the current PC 1.0 system doesn't create those. The more people have in space to defend, the more people will come to attack, and the more the defenders will have to do. It turns what is otherwise and currently a "here, come take a potshot" mechanic into a full-fledged engagement with the enemy.
I'm not wrong. I am actually living in Molden Heath, There are plenty of Battles, most of the battles are at best, 5 v 5 when talking about dust and EVE. When fighting against Pirates usually 10 v 10 (if you have the numbers)
Top Men. is not capable of summoning a fleet in MH with their 18 somewhat inactive members. The CFC is capable of such things, but they are not and never will be interested in Molden Heath, I know because I come from the CFC (Fatal Ascension)
We do want good fights, and we've been getting goodfights, I think anyone who has been active in MH can tell you we've been getting nothing but good fights and other people running away.
As a former CFC member though I would like to extend an olive branch, if you guys need help killing RENEGADE ALLIANCE. I will be more than happy to do so. |

The CFC is capable of such things, but they are not and never will be interested in Molden Heath, I know because I come from the CFC (Fatal Ascension) We have, in fact, brought a fleet down. (And yes, I'm referring to the EVE alliance, not our DUST alliance.) They were bored, so they went home. Under the pre-1.7 mechanics, orbital support was pretty few and far between for any corp we engaged in PC, because the fun just wasn't there. The new mechanics show more promise, but with no meaningful benefit to EVE for PC, nobody wants to muster any sort of orbital forces still. (On the flip side, the LP rewards for the new FacWar orbitals have people really freaking excited.) PC 2.0 stands to put juicy targets in space, meaning both people wanting to gank them, and people willing to step up and defend them. It's a huge opportunity for more integration, further interest for EVE players, and finally, with any luck, a system that is close to prepared to leave Molden Heath.
I can only hope so, but I am willing to bet most EVE players are hesitant to fly this proposed warbarge. (which will probably be SLOW and easily intercepted) to drop of clones for something they don't really benefit from unless they own a POS.
all that aside, I died today to a Renegade Alliance and Public Disorder (at the time was blue) fleet. 6 vs 1, ewar, dps, cloakies and all. There are plenty of fights in Molden Heath, just put in a locator agent, fly to the system and you will get your fights.
The thing that makes the fights less is people giving up on the area. |

Quote from Pg72 of the CSM Summer Summit minutes. Admittedly these are some 4 to 5 months out of date now! Things may have changed but.. Ali Aras asked: can we see more emphasis put on the EVE-DUST link? In particular, a lot of both the CSM and CPM would really love CCP to "go bold" on the link. Ripard added that there are upcoming competitors for both EVE Online the space game and DUST 514 the shooter. "We're concerned that other companies are going to infringe upon this fantastic combination that you are creating even before you can get it going," he said. Trebor added that when CCP starts marketing DUST 514 strongly (as announced at Fanfest), the link is a potential differentiator from DUST's competition and if it isn't a strong differentiator, it will be harder to sell DUST. Hilmar was very understanding of the question and in particular held up Nova Knife's posts about DUST as really hitting the nail on the head about the need to make DUST 514 a really kick-ass shooter. Over a period of a few minutes, he made it very clear that CCP's primary focus for the time being will be to improve the DUST 514 gameplay outside of the EVE-DUST link and build up DUST's reputation and audience in the challenging F2P market. Instead, the focus will be on improving the DUST experience; in particular, the focus will be on grabbing shooter fans right from the get-go. As a result, while Team True Grit will continue to build on the EVE-DUST link, Hilmar feels very strongly that they should focus on the DUST experience and build a shooter that CCP can be proud of.
If they wanna grab the people not on board yet, they should have listened to people when the game first launched:
Color Scheme Customization
Weapon Customization = EG OPTICS Players are more use to red-dots and other optics, taking that away from them was a stupid idea.
I think the additional dropsuits and racial vehicles will be a big plus too, I mean who doesn't want to see a rusty tank with a sail on top of it. |

I agree with Bear here in that you look like a CSM candidate over CPM. The EVE/Dust Link is important and I do like to see it worked on. I'm glad you followed EVE Vegas (I was there) and you have the info on warbarges being worked on by the EVE team and not the DUST team and such. This is great, but this topic will not win you enough votes to gain a seat. If Im just looking at OPs and not digging, you would fail to grab my vote. What about the benefits of me being on the ground and having EVE Pilots? Where's my bonuses? I want to know how you plan to rep DUST... Not just EVE With all this said I encourage you to join us on Podside sometime and chat about the EVE/DUST link. Please let me know if intrested
Sadly I will not likely get CSM anytime soon, I think you'd have a better shot running for that than me. Your name is a little more out there. My concern is that most of the CPM members will not nag and work with CSM members on linking the two games together.
I am acting more as a spokesman for Dust than EVE if you look at what I'm looking to do, most of it would be beneficial to DUST players as opposed to EVE players. Having an EVE player being able to view the Map, Shuttle Launch, Open Market, and a way to shoot people in the sky who are shooting at you, these all directly benefit DUST.
If elected I would work hard with the CSM and CCP on pushing these.
If not elected, I will work hard on pushing the CSM, CPM, and CCP on pushing these reguardless. |

How close SHOULD the two games be in concepts such as weapon and equipment constructs such as Tech Levels.
-It's my personal opinion that CCP should have mimicked EVE from the start in terms of tech Levels, meta 1-4, then tech 2, then faction, then officer.
Also...your general thoughts on the state of lore related Dust? -The state of lore in Dust is pretty bad IMO, they haven't really expanded so much on it, I would like to see DUST play a bigger part in Incursions as well as start to make some headlines in http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/world-news/
1) Other than the forums how do you intend to collect and communicate requests, needs, POV of the community? In particular, those outside your corp / alliance.
-Twitter, Skype, in Game Contact (Almost always on EVE as Matthew Dust), PodCast,
2) What level of interaction would you like to establish between the CPM and CSM?
-A high level of interaction, I can't tell you how frustrated I was talking to Kesper about the warbarge, he told me outright, he had no idea about it, they don't really work that much with the CPM, and that the CPM doesn't really talk to the CSM, because my goal is linking the two games together, I will infact be striving to contact CSM a lot, and I will make sure to bring that up right away to CCP, if there is infact an NDA preventing the CPM from talking to the CSM, both of them need to fall under the same NDA.
3) What are the top 3 short term (next 2mo's) changes you would encourage CCP to make? I'm looking for concrete examples that are realistic to achieve.
--FIX PC and expand beyond MH -Release of the other racial dropsuits and vehicles (which they should have almost finished) -NPE (Which I believe they are working on, it seems IWS has been pushing for this)
4) What are the top 3 mid term (next 6mo's) changes you would encourage CCP to make?
-New Planet types -Bigger Maps -More content in the form of vehicles like the MAV and Mech and additional weapons
5) In Spring of 2015, when CPM1's term is up, what would you want people to have said about your tenure as a CPM member?
-He kept us informed and posted and was a really big help to the community, glad he got CCP to fix PC.
6) Will you be creating a channel for folks to meet and sqd with you during the period before the election?
-CPM1 Candidates is open, I will be doing Orbitals for anyone in Caldari FW, please PM or start a convo with me at Matthew Dust. I am currently focused on creating an EVE side in preparation for PC 2.0, where I believe people will need a fairly decent EVE side.

Thanks Jaysyn, I'm in it for the long hall, most of the candidates I've spoken with seem to be passionate about the game, their primary focus seems to be NPE, matchmaking, and new game modes, but I think I take the cake when it comes to linking the two games together, a few of the candidates want to see the game linked as much as me, but there are a few more that have no interest in it at all.
I'm worried about PC, passive income, and lack of market (which gives everyone the opportunity to make more isk)
I'm hoping that elected or not, the CPM and CSM start to form a better relationship. It irritated me a little that CCP announced a warbarge at EVE Vegas and most of the CSM was like: A what? Oh, we were in the PVP room during that DUST presentation.
