Munch A few questions In what ways would you wish to see the Connection between capsuleers and infantry expanded?
How high on your list of priorities is having dust able to perform a constant framrate of say 20 FPS?
Would you wish for the return of Corporation Battles or rather the introduction of Team Deploy for Factional warfare?
I'm sure to come up with more questions, but these seem to be ones that many people have so I put them here
I've been asking everyone these questions just answer

Good question. With a community this big and diverse, there will be differences in opinion. All we have to do is to look at the forums to see how different opinions are put forward and either supported or opposed. Even within a corporation there can be disagreements and even outright betrayal (this is New Eden, of course).
My point of view is that even though some us disagree with others, we don't have to be disagreeable.
If I'm given the privilege of serving on the CPM I am committed to representing the whole community as best I can. There are many things I believe are common concerns.
There are many things we all agree on:
Continued improvements to the game through balancing and adding new content.
Continued removal of bugs, glitches and exploits.
Improving and even reworking PC.
Developing an open market.
Better integration with EVE.
Better CPM communication with the community. I understand that this is limited by the NDA but in the past I don't feel that the player base has been engaged in a dialogue with the CPM members.
These are the things I mean when I say I will represent the players.
Poonmunch wrote: 2. I won't push a corporate agenda. I've never heard that before, please be honest...
This is my sincere point of view. A group like CPM has to be completely impartial with respect to the needs of a specific corporation. A voice that is always perceived as supporting the needs of one corporation will be ignored by the CPM and CCP. This would make it impossible to contribute to any discussions and would be a waste of time.
Consensus is critical.
Poonmunch wrote: 3. I'll listen to the opinions and ideas of others with respect. You've seen attim's posts and you want to repeat that?
I've seen many posts, including his. Posts vary in intensity and logic. Some are made with humor in mind. Some are deliberate trolls.
My perspective is as I have stated.
I'll never be able to be effective without respecting the point of view of another person. I might disagree with someone but personal attacks and trolling never help dialogue to be constructive.
Poonmunch wrote: 4. I'll consider each idea and proposal on it's merits. I hope...
This is the only way to make improvements and to be respected enough to have my own ideas taken seriously.

Yes. It is what I want to put hard work into. Several hours of prep followed by conferences with Shanghai in the middle of the night is not something to be done lightly. I'd never do this for another game.
I truly believe that DUST/EVE integration and an open market are the way forward.
Poonmunch wrote: 6. I'll sign an NDA and keep my word. My corporation will not get any information prematurely from me. Thanks
It has been alluded to that this may not always be the case, although I've never witnessed it.
I think it bears repeating because I want to be fair.
Poonmunch wrote: 7. I'll work with the Devs to improve their blogs. meh quality is good atm quantity atm is what's bad
I think they could use some improvement myself. The last set of Dev blogs before 1.7 came out left me with some questions about implementation and I think they could have been more detailed.

Killar-12 wrote:In what ways would you wish to see the Connection between capsuleers and infantry expanded?
This is huge in my mind.
DUST/EVE integration sets this game heads and shoulders above all the other console shooters. It needs to be strengthened and expanded in order to keep DUST viable, in my opinion. The EVE guys need to feel more invested in the outcome of DUST battles, pure and simple. And we DUSTies need to feel that our actions matter in New Eden.
1. Improve the in-game communications between DUST and EVE.
2. The EVE guys do logistics. It's a big part of EVE. The EVE guys should be responsible for transporting us to various locations where they need us to fight. I think we should be responsible for our own equipment, though. I don't think that my selection of dropsuits, for example, should be dictated by what ships can carry or are willing to carry.
3. The EVE guys do manufacturing. It's kind of their thing. I believe they should be responsible for manufacturing our equipment and we should have to buy it from them. Is there room for our corporations to make items? Sure. Some people might want to try it.
4. The DUST and EVE markets need to be open so players from both games can buy and sell items and resources to one another.
5. EVE guys know the strategic situation in New Eden far better than we do. They know what starships are available, they know what jump gates they can use and they know something about the distribution of enemy starships. And all that other in-space-stuff. Starting battles should be handled EVE-side.
6. Reinforcing gains should be handled EVE-side.
7. In FW orbital bombardments should be handled in a fashion similar to how they already are. Let the EVE guys do their thing to help the ground guys.
8. I think it's important for DUST CPM members to monitor our forums but also monitor the EVE forums, so we can get some ideas of what each others concerns, ideas and criticisms are. I deeply want to avoid any misunderstandings or bad blood between the two.
Killar-12 wrote:How high on your list of priorities is having dust able to perform a constant framrate of say 20 FPS?
Very high. A smooth experience is critical and creates immersion.
Immersion is important.
Low framerates break immersion, lag breaks immersion, poor rendering breaks immersion, poor hit detection beats immersion, bugs break immersion, glitching breaks immersion.
These need to be constantly monitored and addressed.
Members of the CPM need to play the game and read our forums so we can get a feeling for the large picture that is DUST.
Killar-12 wrote:Would you wish for the return of Corporation Battles or rather the introduction of Team Deploy for Factional warfare?
I think both are important and I don't see why they have to be addressed in an either/or fashion.
My personal feeling is that FW offers the best, most accessible way for the largest number of DUST players to participate in the affairs of New Eden. It gets everyone working towards a simple goal and it can be done by smaller corps, single squads and even single players. The corporations don't have to manage their planets and games don't have to be started at a specific time on a specific date.
PC, on the other hand, appeals to a portion of the player base. Mostly, from what I notice, the larger corporations. This is fine. Some people enjoy the challenge of dealing with clone supply, coordinating larger groups, defending larger pieces of planets from near constant attack and building alliances. In my limited exposure to PC, I noticed that the battles were very intense and enjoyable. Another nice thing about PC is that it offers the potential for DUST corporations to obtain resources which they can buy and sell to each other or to EVE-side guys.
The bottom line is that I'd be happy to offer my ideas, concerns, feedback and suggestions to either approach, depending on what CCP decides are its priorities.

Fox Gaden wrote:What are your thoughts on the current Time To Kill situation?
I have noticed that TTK seems to have been decreasing in general since I started playing in open beta. While some weapons have been adjusted to bring them in line with more reasonable TTK (i.e. the flaylock), it seems that TTK is still dropping.
People I squad with have noticed an apparent decrease in TTK.
There are people raising concerns about decreasing TTK in the forums.
These things should prompt investigation in order to preserve balance and fun.
With the number of games played in a 24 hour period, there is a ton of potential data available over a one month period.
I need to look at hard data to determine exactly what is happening withTTK and to verify that it is getting too low. It's the fairest way to approach the question.
1. Is TTK for each weapon similar? Are some weapons outliers?
2. Is TTK for different modules similar?
3. Is TTK for similar SP investments similar?
4. Is TTK a specific dropsuit in line with similar drop suits with similar shield regenerators, plating, etc?
5. How is TTK different for different tier weapons (basic, advanced, prototype)?
6. As other questions of the data as they arise.
As you can see this might take several hours and a spreadsheet to figure out. It is something I'm prepared to do.
I'd look at all the data and ask myself the same question: Is TTK decreasing and why?
Then I'd work with the CPM and CCP to address the problem and come up with some solutions. When these become implemented, they need to be monitored because playstyles will change.
Then what I'd really like to see is some sort of acknowledgement that certain balance problems exist and that CCP and the CPM are addressing them and working towards a solution. This is done somewhat now but I think the process should be more transparent and apply to all parts of the game.
Fox Gaden wrote:What do you think of the current AV/Tank balance?
Pre-1.7 I had played AV occasionally.
Since the 1.7 update I've specced further into AV because of all the complaints I was hearing. I wanted to see for myself. To be frank I think that the AV side has to be adjusted in light of the much increased survivability and power of HAVs.
AV seems to be better balanced with respect to LAVs and dropships.
As I stated above, these observations need to be corroborated with hard data and then the problem can be addressed.
I do have one concern, though: if there is a problem with AV versus HAV, balancing between the two would be "relatively" easy. But what will happen with AV versus LAV and AV versus dropships?
Making swarm launchers more powerful against HAVs will really make them powerful against LAVs and dropships, a solution none of us want. Perhaps we need an anti-aircraft version and an anti-tank version?
I hope these answers addresses your questions adequately.

Here are some new questions I have been asked in the General Discussion forum.
I'm pasting them and the answers I've given here so you can read them here as well. The questions I have left out (1 and 3) are ones I have already answered in this thread.
Kane Fyea wrote:2. Do you think tanks need a rebalance vs other vehicles? Currently Dropships and LAVs are pretty useless when tanks are around (Which currently is 75% of matches).
Yes. This is tied in with the vehicle versus AV balance in that any changes made to AV to make it more powerful against HAVs will cause big problems with LAVs (in the case of PEs, REs and swarm launchers) and dropships (in the case of swarm launchers).
In order to balance the vehicle situation I think the first place to look is at HAVs. The speed of an HAV, it's armor repair and shield repair rates are all a but high in my opinion. I need to see some hard data on the pre-1.7 and post-1.7 performance of HAVs.
1. What ranges are HAV, LAV and dropship engagements happening at?
2. What weapons are commonly used to kill HAVs, LAVs and dropships?
3. How much damage is required to kill an HAV, LAV and dropship?
4. When HAVs are used in battles, what type of advantage do they provide? I want to know if the number of HAVs used, the type of HAVs used and the ranges they make their kills at correlate with who wins and who loses.
5. Orbital bombardments can have a very big effect in the game. I think this is especially relevant when you take into account how many WP an HAV can accumulate (which is potentially quite a lot compared to an infantry guy) and therefore how many OBs they can create.
Kane Fyea wrote:4. Do you think introducing the racial variants of basic content (Basic meaning current Dropsuits, Vehicles, and weapons) should be a top priority?
Yes.
Maps also.
Thanks for posting. These are great questions.

Here are some more questions I was asked in the General Discussion forum with my answers attached.
Kane Fyea wrote:5. Do you feel the current rifles are OP? (Meaning AR RR ScR and CR) Currently most other weapons simply cannot compete against the rifles in their current state.
A good question and one that is a very hot topic in the forums. It is tied in with TTK.
I get the feeling that this is the case and I need hard data to confirm this. The types of data I need to see are similar to the types of data I need to see for other questions I want to answer.
One thing I need to find out is what the culture of CCP is with regard to these weapons. I can only do this by speaking to them and listening to their answers. I suspect that CCP focuses the game on the weapons that engage at closer ranges, specifically the weapons you list. Although the RR and CR are new and may be headed for rebalancing as we speak. If I'm going to advocate for CCP to make balancing changes to these weapons I need a solid fact-based argument.
Kane Fyea wrote:6. What is your stance on damage mods? Do you feel that they need to be removed, rebalanced, or are balanced?
I get the feeling that they are contributing significantly to reducing TTK but I need hard data to see if this is the case. Toning them down might resolve the TTK issue.
Do you have a specific concern with one weapon in combination with damage mods or are you worried about the general problem of short TTK? If you can give me some idea of what you are concerned about I can give you a more complete answer.
Kane Fyea wrote:I will most likely post more questions.
Please do.

With hope, I know there's a few different people who intend to send out standard questionnaires and surveys to candidates (this happens EVE side with the CSM as well), to make it easy for voters to compare and contrast people's opinions on different matters. The biggest thing important to ensuring it isn't just a popularity contest is that people get their views out there. Great question.
I hadn't thought about it much until you just asked me, so here goes.
In case you don't know already I'm pretty much a dedicated sniper. When I was a noob I used to sit at the top of a hill, trying to head glitch, praying that one lightly armored guy would stand still for 20 seconds and hoping I'd get one kill before the game ended. Since then I've become more confident and now I run as a semi-logi, so I can lay down uplinks, nanohives, REs, PEs and hack.
Of late I've started to get bored with run-and-gun sniping.
Now you might see me in a knuckle-dragger fatty suit lugging around a forge gun, so I can see what the fuss is all about. Man, that thing is slow.
I'm doing the same with AV builds because I want to see the problems with HAVs myself.
I've got enough points into Gallente scouts and shotguns that I can actually go out there and see how bad it is for the scoutbros. And it is bad. I hope all these cloaking devices people are talking about help scouts.
You may also have seen me as a stain on the wall during those times when I've manned-up and grabbed an AR for a fun, thrilling, short ride to the biomass heap. I'm not that great at CQC, so if you see me don't surprise me or I might accidentally shoot my foot. I'm getting paid back quite a bit for my past sniping sins.
If you look up you might get a good view of me trying to stop my dropship from yawing to the left before I plant it into a building. It's an expensive hobby learning how to fly and I haven't really mastered it. Warning: don't jump in when I'm the pilot.
I've played since late open beta. During the course of the evolution of the game I've watched it lurch, bump and trip along but with each iteration I see CCP trying to make the game better. And I do think things are getting better, which I hope is in part due to the current CPM.
My favourite version right now is 1.7 because of FW. FW is as I see it the way forward in this game and as it is now doesn't have many flaws and has a ton of potential.
If all of the screenshots and gossip about new suits and various suit benefits are true, I'm looking forward to the next version. I'm not sure the numbers will stay the same but it looks like they are going to try to make logi suits more cut out for true logistics work. The same can be said for the other suits.
Thanks for asking.

As I look around the forums I see people in the community who are hanging on, hoping the framerate, bugs and lag will get better. Remember the days when we had 10,000 people on the server? Now we are down to somewhere around 3,000.
We players who are left - the core of the game - all want these fundamental problems to be addressed. It would be great if CCP would put out a regular Dev blog about what they are doing to fix issues like lag, framerate and bugs. It would be nice to read something about this every month with new patches. I want to hear from CCP just as much as you do. We all do.
I think the current CPM has done a lot to keep these issues on the front burner up to this point.
The new CPM has to keep the pressure on CCP to continue fixing game play issues because nobody wants to feel like CCP is giving us new content to mask problems with the game.
I agree with your ideas about opportunities for small corps and groups to play. We need to attend to the whole community, not just large, vocal groups.
Thanks for your comments.

Agreed. Though I think having to de-cloak then equip as two separate steps is an unnecessary frustration. The simple solution, I think, is for the cloaking device to need to remain in hand while you're cloaked. So you will have to use the weapon switch to decloak before you can fire. Then it's one command that we're all very comfortable using.
It doesn't increase the time between cloaked and firing much, but the big thing it prevents is being able to aim your shot while cloaked.

If anyone has any questions for me please post them here and I will do my best to answer them.
A lot of the information I want to know about you is scattered through out the rest of this post, where the info I'm lest worried about is in your OP. You seem to know a lot, but from a stand point of someone having to cruise through a lot of CPM1 posts, this one does not grab me and not everyone will dig deeper for the meat

Please consider adding more or rewriting with more info I disagree. Out of all of the proposed candidates, poonmunch seems to be the most mature and dedicated candidate. His competitive experience is one of the things that may be a drawback for myself and some others, but that doesn't matter if he is willing to take our feedback and use it to better the experiences for everyone without making the game too easy. As far as the link between dust and eve goes, I believe CCP is more at fault than anyone for not having the development power to do it in a more timely fashion. The same way for racial content like vehicles and dropsuits. Players have suggested numerous ways to integrate the two in both complex and simple ways, but all we have is a broken FW system with poor LP payouts and broken FF mechanics.
So about those vehicle locks...
