Part of why the current Plasma Shotgun seems to be less powerful than the Chromosome version, although nearly identical, is that the meta has changed what is being killed. In Chrome, only heavies armor tanked, now EVERYONE armor tanks and the 10% damage reduction vs armor is hurting the shotgun. I would very much enjoy having either a rail, or even better, a projectile shotgun!

What?!?!? give other weapons full parity across races!?!?! blasphemy I say.
But seriously, I would appreciate seeing something like this. Though how the differences could be made in a significant fashion to differentiate the weapons is not clear.
Of course you could just say rail shotgun or projectile shotgun, but what makes this more than just another variety like the breach? They had to reconcept entirely different ranges and lore to make the combat rifle and rail rifle. What do you see as the defining principles of these different weapons. |

I can 2 shot a good heavy, just needs a kr17(only try hards could even attempt to fit proto) and twin complex damage mods.
Although, doesn't stop that heavy from pulling a kb/m and insta180 and killing me with a railrifle in 2 out of the 6 shots he can pull off before my second shot.

I don't know about you, but a shotgun isn't my weapon of choice against tanks.
