Just like when plates got buffed, this could cause a major ripple effect.
As it is now, MLT tanks are being spammed and that is throwing the balance of the game. This could be stopped by changing vehicle quota so it only allows x number of tanks, x number of LAVs and x number of dropships. Of course, that's easier said then done. This would probably happen in a far off update, if at all.
The point is, if MLT tanks become so bad they can't beat a STD then we get a situation where it only comes down to isk and not skill. It's just like how a starter fit has a chance to beat higher tier gear if the person using it has enough skill(and a little luck)
I honestly have no good real idea to balance MLT tanks in the short term, maybe a slight buff to AV and price increase to MLT hulls would make running 5 MLT tanks in a match less appealing.
As if it wasn't obvious, I am a Gallente Proto Assault/Scout non tanker.

From driving them myself, I can tell you that the effect of an HAV on a skirmish or domination is actually very limited. We can only make movement between objectives more difficult. Once enemies get to the structure with the NULL cannon, there's not much I can do about it in almost all maps.
The more people in HAVs, the less there are that are capable of doing the real work, which is hacking. Someone attempted to counter this argument once with "clone count" but if you're dumb enough to run into an HAV's line-of-sight THAT many times, you deserve to lose.
In other words, HAVs are just area-denial. And we all know from laser rifles, mass-drivers, and forge guns in the past that the community doesn't know how to deal with area-denial, so they ***** for a nerf. Because 3-5 tanks don't let you do anything besides sit in a objective? Because you aren't able to call in any vehicles?
