I remember a while back CCP said that "With ammo limitations, we can now increase the turret's damage, range, fire rate and more because the engagement time will be shorter".
Well, they did ONE part, but forgot the other. Ammo is far too plentiful on large turrets, I rarely resupply, maybe one time a match
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

When these two were in my railgun tank the other day, they needed refills for the small rails twice, but I never even went through half my ammo even while shooting constantly.

With my blaster tank i have to reload 2-3 times in a really good game, if they get redlined then no not as much but if i tank fight i go through it quicker
Ammo limits are fine and are just about right
Infantry cried for ammo limits and we have them and now infantry want an even bigger restriction, i dont think you will be happy until we have 1 round

I've had to reload my Large Blaster several times a match while testing it, and while Large Missiles wreck armor tanked vehicles, their ammo is rather limited as well when their fire rate is taken into account.

My experience comes from rails and blasters. Edit 2: Absolutely zero skills into large turrets, I don't have anything to increase my ammo reserve.
Agreed, but first they need to have supply depots accessible in every map.

Missile is ok balance Rail have too much ammo for overall Blaster have too large clip and too much ammo
Real tanker would get off their tank untill their tank blow up, although not much people can blow up their tank.

Depot up on the wall, my tank is next to the wall but i dont get any ammo even tho its 1m above my tank
Depot is up on a staircase, hav cant climb stairs
Reduce damage for what? rails is a large FG so lolno because it requires a tank to use and alot more PG/CPU, blaster is a large AR for AR514 so no not needed

Depot placement should be a separate discussion in the bugs forum. Its pretty clear they were not repositioned after vehicle ammo became a thing.

As a tanker I can agree that possibly there is room for tweaking in tank ammo stockpiles however I wouldn't say by too much. Maybe militia tanks and basic tanks should start off with 10-20% less ammo perhaps.
The thing is I can't in good conscience agree to any tank ammo changes before we address the issue of supply depots. On some maps there are none that a HAV can get to. So you end up just having to call in a second tank. |

I thought there were supply depots at base spawn points that tanks could get to easy. - I have seen tankers speeding back to them after blowing up ones in the field

Maybe ammo isn't the whole problem, but engagement window absolutely.
I want tanks to be invincible with hardeners on and such...or I want tanks to be able to retreat quickly without them. But right now they're just able to sit there taking swarm after swarm, forge after forge for minutes at a time.
Also, you should mention something about buffing the ammo packs while nerfing the ammo amount. If tanks want to have a larger engagement window they should have to use an ammo pack. I think right now they increase ammo by like 20% (that could be just the militia modules). Instead, the railgun ammo should be decreased to only 2-3 reloads (9 at the start, with 18-27 reserve ammo, half/a third as much as they do now).
The ammo packs at basic level should then be something like 50% ammo increase, with prototype ones giving 100%. ARs only have like 3-4 reloads, don't see why tanks should have 6 (54 rounds).

No, on some maps the redline depot is elevated or enclosed. Very much out of reach for a reload.

These days i mostly see 3 because i happen to get rid of the enemys
Even if i play on an alt im seeing maybe only 3 tanks in total in each game

The recall feature also needs to be looked at, would make tankers less likely to destroy SDs if recalling activated a timer before you could call in a tank again or something, or perhaps making the recall take far more time is an option.
