Terrain is physically different from what it actually looks like, and the farther away you are the more this disparity grows. At sniping range, it's already vastly different, rendering your vision useless. Hmm rendering maybe an issue but why can he shoot me while I am hitting the hill/obstacle? It is not only the visibility it is also the ability to shoot back.
Because he is using the top of the hill side and going up just enough to get a shot off, meanwhile your seeing him through the hill. The only bug is that your seeing him through the hill, and no they are not shooting through the hill. When im sniping I see people through about every obstacle in the map. This is a known rendering issue. SoonTM they will fix it, and it will make snipers harder to find. |

Excuse my confusion but if you can shoot at me with clear line of sight how can it happen that I dont have the same line of sight towards you? I kow there is the rendering issue showing the whole sniper in the hills although he is mostly covered, but If I aim to the head with my sniper rifle I should be able to hit you in the same way as you could hit me. And I am not only talking about the hills far away this can also happen with most obstacles in a closer distance. In this cases I can barely see his a mercs head but can't hit him even though I should but he can hit me with ease...
That's just it, you can hit me, if you aim at the part of me that is not hidden, plenty others have been able to before. Using an obstacle and revealing just enough to get a shot off has been used by every sniper in history... Why should a game be any different. I see people using boxes and hill sides while they are constantly moving exposing themselves enough to get a shot off and retreating back to reload/take cover ect... I am a very effective counter-sniper because I use cover as it was intended and I move around to get a better firing solution if I cannot get my shot to land. I was in the ARMY for over 12 years and was a sniper for 4 of those years and had plenty of real world training, you have to qualify yearly and have to take courses to stay on top.
Ill say it again, as soon as they fix the rendering issue where you are not visible through obstacles, only what is showing, then snipers will be a lot harder to find. |
