The communications system seems bugged as numbers flash up across your screen, accompanied by a faint, fluctuating, high pitch screeching static. Fiddling with the controls for a moment, you manage to tune in to a voice that's barely audible amidst the static

Loud static suddenly erupts from your communications device as the screen goes fuzzy, numbers flashing across it amidst a barrage of lines and graphical artifacts. Trying to fiddle with it again only makes it worse. In slight frustration, you hit it a couple times as the screen corrects itself
Heavy breathing comes through for a few seconds, rasping slightly. Unintelligible murmuring can be heard faintly, along with what sounds like sparks randomly flaring up. In the background, a distinct scream can be heard, followed by a few more, then silenced by a loud gunshot
Move. We need to move, now.
But....but they...
MOVE!!
More gunshots blare through, quickly replaced by static as the transmission goes dark again

A very faint static can be heard in the background of your communications device, a lingering sound that appeared out of nowhere. At first you barely even notice it, it's so faint. Fiddling with the settings, you manage to catch the signal.
There is only the faint sound of breathing, yet it sounds heavy, almost gasping. A dripping sound can be heard much more distinctly, rhythmically falling between ever few breathes. Strange fleeting echoes appear and disappear without warning, though they vaguely sound of metal structures being quickly warped; a sickening groaning sound, but faster.
You can hear whoever is on the other end, slowly moving, feet shuffling heavily, the dripping sound ever so slowly increasing in frequency. He coughs, gurgling slightly as he lets out a loud sigh, and you hear what sounds like him slumping against the wall, and sliding down.
A slightly gurgled laugh can be heard, then the distinct shuffling sound of someone adjusting their microphone, as the chuckle fades but becomes more distinct.
He coughs again, this time it is easy to hear, the liquid in his lungs, unmistakable. He lets out a long, drawn out sigh
"If anyone hears this......if anyone finds this message......"
His breathing gets heavier as he speaks, another series of coughs bursting from him for a moment.
"they've figured out how....to inhibit the transfer of.....to stop us from jumping to a......"
He lets out a loud groan, followed by rapid heavy breathing
"another clone. They can kill us. I don't know what they are....they're......unreal......creatures that seem like.....they were human.......but.....
His breathing slows as he goes quiet, all but the slow, heavy rasping of his breath. About a minute later, he continues
"I hear them coming....if I'm gonna....gonna really die.....I'm not going out like that.....not like them....."
The mic scuffles for a moment and lands on the ground with a clack and a scrape, followed by the sound of plasma charging. A fearsome guttural shriek erupts from the background, hurting your ears as it drags on, rapidly approaching like a blood curdling, ear piercing roar.
The last thing you hear is the loud, distinct bang of a charged ion pistol, and the transmission ends.
