petition CCP for a no red zone map, like ambush, with no red zone. Pitch it as an "alternative proposed map of play" in a pub match, just temporary of coarse, just to validate the #'s. What an awesome choice, because Dust is about choices. Then you (anti red zone mercs) would be able to play in your anti red zone sand box and you'll be happy

Kill 2 500k dropships and 1 500k tank and you added all that to the ISK reward (or salvage) at the end of the battle. ALl that booty but no risk to get it. So if we redline a team, does that mean i can now redline them permanently by getting my expensive proto suits out because i won't lose them.

The redline is a problem, not a solution.
The redline invites abuse by snipers and there is no good way to fix that short of removal.
The redline rarely if ever improves a match. Once a team has been bottled up they don't make it back out again. The line simply gets camped and it's boring for both sides. The losers either throw cheap suits into the meat grinder or sit back and wait for time to run out.
Honestly, does anyone here think it's worth keeping? |

I actually like the OP's idea... but I don't see it working out as it could then lead to matches with half of each team running proto while staying in the redline so they don't lose gear... enough people stay there already
What we need is smarter players... How many of you take a suit with 6 uplinks, Go into the map, drop all within 50/100 meters make a lot of WP doing nothing..... And fool themselves thinking they are at all contributing to the team
And then the Derpships fly up to one rooftop and his squad place anywhere up to 20 links ON ONE ROOF! This happens so much it's unbelievable, and it is practically asking to be redlined You give your opponents a chance to breach one area and win the game...
No WP for redline kills is better, it gives the players reason to get out of there unless they like OWP
Turrets should be in place to defend it, with either boosted or unlimited HP, the turrets would have to be Large Blasters so they couldn't be used at range
Being redlined is avoidable if you use tactics to get out of there... Provide uplinks in strategic locations from the beginning of battle and you even give the new players a chance to control objectives....

Closed beta we didnt have a redline
What happened was that the enemy just invaded where you spawn and we had tanks looking up at the MCC shooting missiles into it
You spawn and died and no escape

Just rail tanks, specifically? Because I think that Thale's sniping from 300m in the redline is equally broken.

Seems like cutting the range or upping the spool up and lower tracking could be easier to implement and would be what actually should happen.
My missile gunnlogi gets trashed at CQ just because the rail has better RoF than it used to. I hope they increase the spool up and overheat.

I think this is brilliant.
Iv not even been able to properly try out drop ships in 1.7 because of this and I'm really heavy handed with the new feel of it, bottom line is in absolute rubbish and Cant even practice properly as it responds so well now and I get popped of shot at almost immediately.
I would like to add that this would be fine in pubs but needs some lore to back it up in fw and pc I believe, maybe something to do with corporate compensation for unseen circumstances? I don't know.
Oh and drop ships cost how much more than tanks? Wtf is up with that?

My changes are in the EDIT section I wrote : Judge Rhadamanthus wrote: rail tanks 300 meters into the redline, or indeed snipers I think from you "just fly better" and "squad with AV" comment that you still have not bothered to read the thread or even tried to understand the issue. I shall no longer respond to you as I think you are simply a troll. You want to make the redlining situation worse go ahead As for the you need to fly better and squad up yes you do because every game ive seen you in so far your DS has blown up, it hurts but its true Is this thread for taking stabs at each other? It is now
oooooo... Sh*t just got real |
