Advanced movement options. Vaulting, sliding, tackling (sprinting melee), holding on to vehicles, etc.
Full immersion would be the ability to move like in Mirror's Edge, but that would kinda break the game.
Also, even more complex vehicle controls and a reload system that discards unused ammo. |

Getting hit causes the character to flinch and slow movement the bigger the round the slower you get on a really high end it would be nice to see the ability to be knocked down to a side by a shell or the likes and grunt when hit(like they do)
Weapon jamming where it refuses to fire until fixed and misfire in cases of launcher systems could be interesting.
This is perfect for removing the last players from the game. As a rule of thumb, an FPS should never take away control from a player. Acceleration of movement isn't all that realistic on infantry, in the first place, but it also removes sidestepping, causing firefights to be dumbed down.
Flinching and knockdown basically prevent you from reacting exactly when you most need to react. It's bad design just like having the screen turn sepia when you get low health.
Jamming would only make sense if it was consistent. Like, a weapon that jams if you try to fire in bursts or something. Random jamming would just cause the hardcore players to give you the finger.
Quote: Effects from close proximity to explosions short term hearing loss with a buzzing sound some effect on vision say dirt kicked up from blast onto the screen, pushed to one side by blast which would in effect stagger the character.
Loud harsh sounds for most weapons unless suppressed think how the rail rifle sounds only that harsh for everything not same noise just with that in mind.
Screen sway while moving particularly while sprinting i think this may already happen a bit
Near death effects heavy breathing, damaged HUD, red flashing warning lights on peripheral of the helmat veiw, possible groaning for a while after being hit badly until you hear a clunk or injection that calms the merc. More destructive vehicle deaths
Make the HUD look like the veiw from inside a helmet were ment to be looking a screen in side the helmats right?
Those are quite nice, though. But the low-health HUD effects shouldn't be overdone.

That would actually be a way to make tanks weaker. The animation would mean that a sniper would have more time to kill you while entering, especially because the movements would be consistent. So if you are spotted calling in a vehicle, you will be defenseless during the animation, with your head always following the same trajectory. I imagine headshotting tankers would be a new fun thing to do for snipers.
Quote: In faction Warefare perhaps some radio chatter form the NPC factions that your fighting for the hotter the planet the more radio chatter (probably would be a annoyance after a while but could be a laugh)
Do you know how extreme this would be in terms of development ressources needed? Not to mention that we already have matches where the announcer constantly cycles through hacking announcements. Even more chatter would make you go insane.
Quote: All appearing out of nowhere spawns need to go we need to either spawn in a place that makes sense be it dropping from orbit or inside a base with some sort of Clone activation unit that woke us up.
Orbital drop would be awesome. Especially if it means that others can man turrets and try to shoot you out of the sky. It could be like Section 8, where you can drop slowly and be vulnerable, but gain additional control. Or you drop quickly and are less vulnerable and can also smash someone's head if they don't notice that you are on collision course. |
