Q. I'm wondering if AV Greades are effective against infantry considering #1 public enemy ATM is tanks, I'm looking for a Multi-Purpose grenade, obviously AV Grenades are pacifically made for Vehicles but are they also effective against infantry?

Ask a bluebery and they'd say yes.
However they're practically useless against infantry, seeing as they don't detonate.
However they do have splash, so hit an LAV with people around the LAV, and the AV nade will splash them.

If you throw one, then the infantry will begin to run. Why?
Because there is almost no way for an enemy to distinguish between a Core Locus or a Lai Dai Packed.

An AV grenade used to do damage to infantry if you physically hit them with it, but I don't know if they've fixed it. I've only done it twice, and that was in beta and early Uprising.

Sometimes I use them to flush enemies out of a hiding spot. They don't know it's an AV grenade until it sits there forever without exploding.

Havent had a kill with an av nade in a while but it does have its benefits.
The first one you throw at an inf = twitch jump
And while they won't be destroying stuff when used solo, 2 av hits will send your 'average' mlt tanker far far far away

Came here to say this. Was disappoint.
AV Grenades are like dud Locus Grenades that you can throw at redberries to deter them for a bit. Throw one and the poor dude will be too afraid of getting blown up to go anywhere near it for several seconds.
Other than that, no. Not really. The effect against infantry it has is killing them when they are in vehicles.

If the guy is stood within a metre of a vehicle and doesn't think to move when you lob AV, yeah it is, killed three people that way.
