I have always been able to put forward an argument to disgruntled corp members on why to keep playing.
Today though I couldn't as the game is the worst I have ever known it and to be honest just isn't fun to play anymore.
Is anyone else feeling this way?.
I played today and couldn't get in a squad that used teamwork and the matches were pointless to play. I did OK solo but we couldn't even get within 100m of the objective. No one was dropping uplinks, pushing the objective, using teamwork or using AV. Today was the first time in a long time I said f#$% it and logged off. I don't don't know what the rest of the team was doing but it wasn't winning. I just don't understand what these people are doing when they deploy. I told my two teammates who had zero WP half way through the game that they sucked and I logged.
You can hand a newberry all the fancy suits and a program setting that does a majority of the aiming, cheap tanks and a module to show you where all the red things are even behind walls.
They will still be bad.
If you can't teach a player how to play your game or a FPS game and not put a majority of your attention around the learning curve of the game and genre, this will always happen, a bunch of gamers who don't know what the hell is going on or what anything is for.
You can nerf proto, give them AA, and then hand out infinite suits. It will never ever fix the problem that CCP has to build a learning curve on how to play a FPS game firstly then how to play a CCP game.
Until they invest the time they have spent trying to implement Aim Assist 3 separate times to the community hating it. And take the AA man hours and spent it on actually building a learning curve in their game this "newberry" and player retention problem will plague DUST.
People think handing tools to a noob that has never learned will help and it just doesn't, It's why the whole "Teiricide" argument everyone makes is just a giant waste of time. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink, and this being a F2p title we don;t even get a new player that invest 50 bux because they cared about FPS games, we get the person who Drunk downloaded the title not knowing what it was.
