I still think it's neat how the hybrid gun technology works, i.e. how Rail guns and blasters fire the exact same types of munitions, just in radically different ways.
Projectile weapons do this too, somehow, but the only way I can think of how is that every projectile round (for EVE ships, at least) is actually a cluster bomb and autocannons fire just the cluster munitions inside while artillery throws the whole damn shell.

Actually it's implied that all the "other species" are humans (except the Jovians could possibly be considered a different species now because of all their modifications). The Talocan and what not are just old post-EVE gate collapse human civilizations that didn't survive to the present.
There's even a system in WH space that matches our solar system (9 planets, the 3rd being temperate and so forth). The "Sleepers" seem to be what humanity 1.0 became. Especially when you watch the DUST opening trailer and it shows that the sleeper's brain structure and body shape matches ours.

No, the Rakatans, one of the "precursor" races in the Star Wars universe, mastered the force when they were still in a pre-industrial state.
Midichlorians are naturally occuring magical bacteria, thus any argument using "the force" as it's evidence for technological advance-ness, is silly.
