To all the would be candidates,
I have to agree with the sentiments of my fellow council members. If you think CPM will be a cool and fun thing you are going to be terribly disappointed and regret your decision to run.
The task that is put before the council is a job in every sense of the word. You will wake up at god awful hours for meetings after spending a most of the night preparing for that meeting. You will find your free time slipping away and time with family and friends having to be rescheduled so you can accomplish the tasks at hand. Your time will become the community's and CCP's resource to spend. You are a servant to the community and a servant to the betterment of the game.
You better not just like this game. You had better love it and the potential is has if you want to have any hope of surviving your term. You will find yourself in the most stressful position you ever thought imaginable. You will pour your heart out to make a difference and often find your blood, sweat, and tears fall on deaf ears in an institution that can't begin to fathom the importance of it's own community and the transparency required to keep that relationship intact. Fortitude and perseverance will be your strongest allies.
There is a chance you can make a difference though and help be part of something that makes Dust a better game for everyone. There is even a chance you can continue the progress of helping to make CCP realize the value of its community and that developing in a black box is the way of the past and an open relationship with their customers will bear far sweeter fruit.
Think twice about what you are getting into and know if you take this task lightly you will end up wasting the time of the other councilors, CCP, and most importantly the community. If you lack the fortitude this job will grind you into the dirt until there is nothing left but an empty husk, so take a hard look and yourself and be honest about deciding if you are ready for what this job requires.
