IMO its def a hardmode, its my main fit I run it in PC and regardless the amount of points you have in it it'll never be easy but it is alot of fun |

I mean, the way I see it, I'd use the pistol and the knives f+Śr basically the same thing: sneaking up behind people, gutting/shooting them in the back at really close range. Im not saying that it's uncool or anything, just that eventually one weapon will probably become redundant because I won't see a reason to pull the other weapon out. Maybe combo plasma cannon with knives? 
I use my pistol when my knife target is out of range as a rule I never chase a target down for a knife kill I use my knives as a situational weapon when I have the flank and my enemy is unaware I knife when I'm spotted I use my pistol. Plus it makes you feel like an assassin  |

Also you can get some epic range with a pistol if you can pull headshots, my furthest is 72meters |

Third match went better though. Kdr 6/7 and 660 wp.
My fit right now is a minmatar light basic suit with 1 enhanced sidearm damage modifier, 1 scrambler pistol, 1 adv nova knives, 1 enhanced kinetic catalyzer, 1 basic codebreaker and locus grenade BPO.
Let's try a few more and see what happens. Stay tuned! :)
