Once again I had to change games. It's simply too frustrating getting repeatedly proto-stomped. Match after match I get railed by groups running maxed out proto-gear the entire time.
Every time you drive a player away because he can't keep up with the elitist you loose money. Frankly I refuse to throw away real money just to have it proto'd into the trash. Why would I? Additionally each time I walk away instead of continuing to play it cost you money. Even if I'm not paying directly, my presence in the game creates situations where those with enough disposable income to waste will spend it on AUR items.
Personally I think a selector with a couple different levels to eliminate players with more than xxx lifetime SP would work. Maybe 1, 2.5, 6, and everyone else (all in millions). New players can choose to run in matches with those who have tons of SP or they can select areas that fit their current abilities/SP. Would make for a much friendlier learning environment and eliminate a huge amount of frustration.

Thanks for the feedback. Some of those I do already. others I'll try out. Still hate the feeling that I won't ever be able to keep up because they'll simply out gear me. Even on the toons I've managed to unlock some proto equipment on (primarily weapons), I can't use it all that often. Too fricken poor to throw away a 40-80k fit trying to keep up with proto squads. |

Timtron Victory wrote:Ek Sol gave the best advice. I personally dont like the Minamatar Suit I have 10 million SP spread thin. I have Amarr Commando, Heavy, Caldari Logistic and Gallente light. All at Basic
I use the Breach AR most times but I also use the scrambler rifle. militia shotgun too for close range. Its a pain when you cant kill a proto with a heavy suit or even a logistics scout or med jumping up and down and accurately shooting.
Ek Sol suggested moving sideways while shooting, I hate it when people do that. Its pretty weird as shooting doesnt lose accuracy when players do that and I think it should.
My preferred weapon is the Burst AR when I get my modules maxed and get my med suit to proto I will be using that. I will just stay behind my team and 3 shot kill everyone with complex damage mods lol
I tried the assault rifles and just can't seem to get the feel for em, specially the breaches. Course, I frequently get single burst killed by folks with ARs. Usually when I can barely see them (and I play on a 60 inch HD tv....) Have been gravitating towards the Rail Rifle lately...
Sideways shooting, my brain hates it and I can't seem to make my hands keep the target lined up when I do this. Not sure if I'm just that bad (which is possible) or if its because I don't use a mouse/keyboard combo....
Primary on my account is using the Min Logi suit....Secondary was playing with Sentinels but I got tired of being eaten by scouts with subs...Playing with Commandos now and if it wern't for them being underpowered with no slots and twice as expensive as any other suit I'd love it. Still enjoyable, but wow. Needs some love.

Thanks to everyone who provided helpful feedback. Spent some time adjusting my Commando build... mostly using the tier one suit with an adv shotgun, basic RR, and quantum scanner. Also waiting to find a squad till am I'm a match... let's me squad up without having to have ears on (to many player in Mic only groups don't use ptt, and I'm tired of listening to them yelling at/getting yelled at by family).
Also trying to master the left/right same everyone's been killing me with. Still irritates me that it's valid, but I'm trying. Combined with hanging back to scan/pick of stragglers my dust experience is slowly improving.

GET ATMESON wrote:[ If you getting stomped by PRO gear now. Nothing is going to change once you have PRO gear. Even if those PRO suit players go to ADV they will still stomp you. Its the skills that matter not just the gear.
Mayhap, but the stomping from someone in full proto (3x complex dmg, armor, armor rep, weapon w/proficiency) makes a huge difference. Additionally the point of the separation is provide new players a better experience, thereby hooking them on the game. The current situation is more likely to drive away newer players, which means less income for CCP. Less money for them means less game for everyone else.
The way I look at it...It's a FTP game, with a pay for improvement option. I won't spend a penny on the game right now. Why? Because any money I spend on fits it essentially throw straight into the trash. Gating the pubs in some manner would (imo) increase sales in the stores. Yes, we'd still die. But not because we're getting smashed by full proto-squads every match from the very beginning.
GET ATMESON wrote: You can quit. No one really cares. Once the player base goes up high enough im sure they will make it so PRO gear plays there own game mode. Like ambush PRO and youll play ambush STD.
I don't understand how you get from you can quit to the player base expanding. IF the majority of new players are driven off by an unfriendly gaming environment the player base will not expand.
GET ATMESON wrote:Edit: Matchmaking sucks. Ill give you that. No one needs to fight 6 AE or NS fresh out of the academy.
That's what I was driving at. Even less than fresh (me) it's still a bad gaming experience. Which to me, says bad for the game. I don't expect to be perfect at the game. I don't expect folks to not stomp me into the ground. What I want is for newer players (myself included) to have a chance to build up more game exp before being thrown head first into the meat grinder.
