As an orbital strike pilot on eve, when a strike is being requested it is not always showing the correct name for the squad leader requesting the strike. It will show names of people who aren't even in the bbattle, obviously this is problematic for when pilots are supporting specific squads. This had been persistent for the last few months and another pilot I operate with also has the same problem. Hope this feedback is helpful. |

U are correct some of the public channels are being monitored by gallente militia, i myself have started an eve side channel which is moderated, which affords a certain level of security. When u are connected to a district u will automatically connect to the district chat channel which is also the dust team chat for that particular battle. This allows to communicate with people in the battle which is useful to a point.
A measure u can take to provide more security to you own operations is to get the dust mercs in public channels to send u a private message of the battle location, yes u can get duped by gallente mercs, but still an space is dangerous and when connected to a district u are visible to people in the same system as well as dust mercs in battle.
Another point of advice is when u are at a district is to set a 360 degree scan set at 450,000,000km this will allow u to detect enemies warping into ur location at approximately 1 AU, giving u enough warning to warp away if u wish. I myself use very cheap disposable ship fittings with a handful fitted ready to go should i get popped.
In conclusion there is no way to guarantee 100% operational security, u will get destroyed, but following the above advice hopefully u will meet with greater success. If u wish to join my moderated channel, mail this dust clone and we can talk about bringing u into our operation. I hope u find this information helpful, id be happy to answer any further queries.

I will try to file a correct in game report on eve as well, i will try a shot of the target name and the district chat so u can see the person is not in battle.
@chewaka, be mindful of your route/autopilot settings make sure your not avoiding systems/areas.Most requests should be 5-15 jumps on average, warp speed rigs for rapid response. As a general SOP we dont bother to respond to locations over around 10 jumps, but u may see a lot of battles in one area so sometimes it is worth making the trip if only to be closer to possible future engagements. Hope this helps

I have an idea about this, which may coincide with possible FW future developments, im going to write a thread on it so il be brief.
Instead of create sqd....create BATTLE GROUP, 16 dust slots, 3 eve slots, inv players, find battle. Optional comms settings. Battle location is uploaded to eve players. Number of jumps from OB ship to district displayed in dust.
Now going to write this up as a thread

I dont mean to patronise, i dont know u, im just trying to offer the best advice i can from my experience dropping OB's.
From what u are saying what i believe u want is basically a list of FW battles, perhaps in the militia offices in stations there could be a list of active FW battles, or just in ur ship u can see a list. However i see this being just as risky as the enemy can also see all sites and have a better handle on anti OB patrols.
If u mean chat channels as i said i run a moderated inv only channel you are welcome to come an try working with us if ur a Caldari FW pilot, if u will mail from ur eve toon to this<<<< clone. We have plenty of OB work available
On ur point of channel security, even PL's jabber channel is not secure, there is nothing to stop any person feeding information to the enemy, occupational hazard.
We have operated on FW on dust for months using orbital support, come and try working with us, there is a frak load of isk to be made
