I think p2p market will help to balance FW. When p2p will come, there will be a high offer of gallente and minmatar stuff and a big demand of caldari and amarr stuff. Prices of cal/amarr stuff will raise and isk hunters will start to play amarr and caldari FW, till demand and offer will be balanced.

I don't believe that.
The current FW system by default makes the faction with most players reach closer to 100%. If demand for Caldari/Amarr items turns out to be that high that a great number of players change sides, it'll only result in the same situation we have now but with the other factions reaching 100%.
The scenario of balance you envision will only happen it the shifts of players occur very frequently. The FW rewards event lasted just one week, where most people shifted to Caldari/Amarr for their rewards and it resulted in FW being controlled close to 100% by those factions in just a couple of days.
So, that means that there is no possible balance in this system unless everyone fights for all factions. Otherwise, if the tendency is for people to play for one side, that side will quickly shoot up to 100%, regardless of any factor other than the total amount of people for that faction being higher than the amount of people that fight for the opposing faction.
If P2P market demand for FW items really can sway people, it'll only lead to it going from one extreme to the other and then back to the starting point to restart the cycle. That doesn't sound like balance at all to me.

Just out of interest - what is the benefit for mercenaries having their faction control 100% of districts? Does it have any effect if you're in EVE ? |

In EVE the more systems/constellations you own and depending on how much they have been upgraded (players have to donate LP to up the system upgrades) raises your factional tiers. Tiers accumulate to how much bonus % LP your faction is making overall; the more systems you hold, the better your LP payouts are for your said faction.

There are hundreds of reasons for a P2P market. We can only live in hope.

I look up at the sky and wish on a star that this will happen. Then again CCP won't answer wishes. |

Thanks. That's very useful. So all the FW statistics I see on the end of match screen when I'm fighting for my faction in Dust 514 mean actually ... nothing at all. It'd be nice to be interested in the long term in the faction you're fighting for - at the moment it's all about if they win the match or not and your standing with the faction has a direct bearing on the payout. The current state of your faction in the total EVE universe is irrelevant at the moment. |

Well I don't think it would be quite as damning as you think, but it won't be as problem solving as he thinks. LP is worth more than ISK at a ratio of about 2:1 so participating in FW is profitable.
Adding a P2P market allows people to make a living out of FW, either by selling salvage or loyalty store items or both. This allows the majority of the player base to stop worrying about the wallet so much. When this happens people will be less concerned about loosing those proto suits if they get enough salv a ge to make up for it. Which alleviate the problem.
However, until Team Deploy and District selection are implemented the mode won't balance. P2P Market is compulsory for balance to FW, but not the only thing.
