Yes, vehicle free ambush please. Mentioned this several months ago and tankers jumped all over me for it. Now though, with tanks being as feared as they are, tanks are having a noticeable impact in ambush. Or should I say a OP presence.
Small maps make it nearly impossible to even call tanks to counter. Last night ran a few games with my corp. Ambush, was running my logi, and was SICK of using my tank. Boom 2 enemy tanks. Sigh.
Though as I was roaming the edge of the map, vainly searching for a safe area to call my tank in, I realized that there is just no way to call a tank in and not have it noticed by the others on the field.
Next ambush I said screw it, and called in one at the start. Lav comes in, then my tank. Then a maddie with blasters pulls up as it was dropping. No shields when I jumped in.
What really pissed me off though, was that was a missile gunnlogi, with duel hardeners. That poor poor tank would have cried, and his buddy too.
Yeah, I'm a tanker and I want tank free games please.

Tanks are faster, have more fire power, immune to most infantry weapons, and have hardeners for temporary invincibility against their only weaknesses. Ideally proto shouldn't exist if tiercide does happened.
Biggest problem is, AV simply cannot cut it much of the time. And even then, it forces many people into an AV roles that leaves them weak to infantry. Call in 2 tanks, and half their team will be needed just to fend off tanks.
And maps are usually very small, making it very easy for the tanks to deny a side tank support, which is the BEST counter currently.

The maps are too big compared to playercount.
Either rewamp the game mode and make smaller maps or bring a higher player Count -which probably won't work.
Or at least let us keep the LAVs or future hoverbikes or whatnot, I'm tired of running...
The combination of todays huge maps, low player Count and no vehicles will be very boring indeed. I can't walk 3 feet from spawn without getting shot at yesterday. The maps are immensely small with no place to really hide.
There are a few very large maps, though I rarely see them. They basically feel like a skirmish maps, and typically, tanks are less of a worry, as there is plenty of room to safely call in tanks.
So, much tank on tank action, so infantry can do other infantry.
