The "Road Map" needed a re-map a year & 1/2 ago....... It's as if you all work in order of operations according to "Murphy's Law". You start everyone off on a Worst Case Scenario baseline, then try to top that. Some then scurry about frantically trying to fix the Hell, while the rest are deer caught in headlights. All while the Marketing & Monetization Teams are spamming "SELL, SELL, SELL!!!!" as they start stripping away the $ Value of Offers while promoting obscurities for purchase as if they had an expiration date..........
To think that the simple concept of Player Retension & Core Function could slip passed the "Radars" has me utterly baffled. New Player Experience was, and still is, "Try &/or Die". Not having Vehicle Locks in a Risk/Reward Game left Pilots suffering to the point of Toxicity. Strafe Speed changes left the Scout Suit in a bad way. Heavies were forced to Homogenize & either be a Forger or pick up an AR..... "Medium or Bust" became DUST. Content is constantly being subtracted. Maps started being designed on Sim City SNES.........& the 1 thing that could have essentially alleviated the vast majority of issues, PvE, was put on the Backburner.....as an afterthought.....in a supposed MMO.....from a Studio who is "Specializes" in MMO..... (Market Stat Anomalies in abundance......)
Care to elaborate on the line of thought that went into the pathing of these decisions??? I'd love for the chance to pry into the collective mind of a Dysfunctional Beehive |

PvE done right(i.e. intimately connected to supporting PvP) will be great and a valuable addition to DUST and New Eden. But contrary to Ninjanomyx's statement, PvE does not solve all things. There is a MAJOR flaw in your "Logic"........ We've had meaningless instanced PvP for 1 & 1/4 Years. What harm could some meaningless instanced PvE do??? And to focus on Matchmaking in a Low Population Title is only asking to deteriorate the Game further, inherently forcing more Issues onto the field. Why you ask??? Did you so easily forget the "Results" of our initially strict Uprising Matchmaking??? Unplayable Matches that were improbable to Populate..... Your "Analogy" is so far off the mark that it boggles the mind to see such utterly lackluster effort to comprehend prior to responding.
The addition of even a Barebones PvE Instance would instantly alleviate multiple issues, without presenting any form of hinderance. Matchmaking unfairly skewed??? Go PvE. Your Gear got Over-Nerfed & you have no backup??? Go PvE. Tired of Protostomping??? Carry Newberries in PvE. Need a break from the rage inducing competition??? "Carebear" it up in PvE. Forum Toxicity at an all time high??? Can't really be that mad when you can ESCAPE to PvE.
Anyone seeing the addition of a Cooperative, Non-Competitive (Unless Scoreboard Bragging.....) Mode vs AI as a Negative is considerably clinically insane....... Not only does it provide a Fresh/New experience, Content, and an Escape........it draws in NEW PLAYERS. A very large portion of the Populace generally prefers Cooperation over Competition, & often avoid PvE Exclusive Titles altogether. You see this Gamer Type flocking to Borderlands, Demon/Dark Souls, "Insert MMORPG Here", CoD Zombies, etc. And what would the addition of a Playerbace Bolster do??? Possibly put less "Strain" on Scotty to get us past the Q Waiting Line??? Increase the "Sphere of Influence" of CCP's intended "Grassroots Approach" to Advertising by increasing the "Word of Mouth" Ratio??? Fresh faces to shoot, should they venture into PvP when they feel comfortable???
This "Escape" could very well minimize Forum QQ and the "Punishment Burden" of Over-Nerfs/Buffs, diminishing the overall "Toxicity" of the Communiy. Camraderie is easier to form when there is less "Teabagging" & "E-Peen Stroking". I could go on and on.......but I'd prefer to hear your "Rebuttal". So tell me again why I'm "Wrong"??? |
