Ok firstly let me just say, I got a ps3 just for this game before this I played xbox, halo was probly my fav shooter. In halo if two guys found each other in cqc, the most likely scenario is empty as many bullets into the enemys face as possible while rushing in to finish with an elbow to the visor.
In this game its different (as it sshould be), but no one even bothers to melee, its always better to just keep shooting/reloading till things are dead. I think it would be awsome to make melee combat a bit more usefull. Atm it seems like there is only a small area where the damage is applied, as far as I'm concerned if u get within punching range in a 45degree spread u deserve to lose 200ish hp.
Is it just me or my lag? Anyone else got any thoughts? |

Lately I've been running scouts / dampened suits if I don't have a shotty or knives and a red dot is hacking something right infront of me or blissfuly sniping away, I'll give em a whack first just to save ammo/overheat, it seems to be the only practical/usefull application I've found. :(

Michael Arck wrote:LOL no. That tactic was good in Halo and honestly, Halo was great for people just getting into FPS MP action. But that doesn't work here in New Eden. NE is a different place. I still use melee's however, whenever I'm CQC and we both got caught reloading. I will melee you as much as possible
What tactic doesn't work? Hitting and unsuspecting opponent before unloading a clip in the back of the head? I assure you it works better than NOT hitting them first... But if we both know eachothers position and you mellee rush me while I'm reloading, well yer goodluck with that. :)

Yer dunno if I could go back to halo now, I was more just after some tips / suggestions. I'll give N1ck and the other sugestions a go and try som myrowatevas tonight. See you on the ground mercs o7

Ok so I made this:
Proto cal logi 4 adv myrofib... blue potions 1 complex shield ext 2 complex damps 2 complex kin cats Proto scanner
Roughly 300 shield 100 armor 9 m/s Under 28db
I mainly camped red cru's and rushed into rooms in some kind of suicidal rage. I one hit a proto assault early on and thought great this is gunna be a laugh, but that must have been a headshot or a freindlty sniper got an assist, because I was unable to repeat this.
I set up camp at a cru with an extremley helpful blue dot who cottoned on to what I was doing and decided to cover me/distract the newly spawned clones while I tried to them clock them over the head with my rifle.
Good fun but far from efficiant, I managed to two hit every medium suit that poped out but it was almost a suicidal strategy. I used about 15 suits to get 10 kills. Also tried hitting a corpmate in fw to test damage but apparently melee is exempt from ff. Oh well on to the next experiment... Any suggestions?
