I have QQd hard and am very surprised that I haven't been banned 3 times instead of 2 times.
I'd just like to say that this is the game I will take breaks from but always come back to.
**** everyone who gave DUST 3 stars out of 10, I like stars, don't do that to me.
screw everyone who "reviewed" DUST and gave it a 4 out of 10.
It's ambitious to do this. Sure it would be a better game if developed by somebody else but the CCP devs know EVE and eventually it will be fully integrated. I'm sure no game has ever achieved what the two games will ever achieve.
so this is it, in writing, from me, whatever QQ i have raised in the past or will raise in the future, this is still a GOOD GAME.
The customisation is un-matched, the currency model and skill points and everything else, this is what a lot of people have been dying for. More than just a cookie-cutter generic COD clone.
I would say that their attempt to "turn up the action" by reducing TTK really didn't have the desired effect but at least now they know what it did and didn't achieve.
The game is going to take a lot of fine-tuning, I really don't want this game to have such low player counts that the matchmaking we all know NEEDS to be implemented cannot be viable.
I don't want it to be reduced to just a small hardcore player base.
I want this game to succeed because it's unique! I amongst others only shout from the rooftops because we desperately want this game to represent the developer's vision.
We QQ because we hate it when we don't have fun in DUST! It's like having a Ferrari without wheels! But then when we have a good game we make a thread, just about one game.
Because with so many variables and suits anything can happen.
Maybe in a few years time we will have an awesome looking and performing Carbon-engine-based PS4 version of DUST with the touchpad acting as our command portal, a way to drop strikes, a way to look at the map.
What if the touchpad was used as the active scanner to make it harder and more tactical to scan?
The maps are too big, I'm sure the empty space is using up a lot of memory, I don't like the empty maps but when the battle gets tense you're constantly micro-managing your armour, shield, ammo, equipment.
I love throwing down hives and uplinks, killing a guy, healing my team, retreating, when the action is good, it's very good!
I don't want DUST to fade away before it's reached it's potential.
Unfortunately it's akin to the music industry. Attention-seekers like Miley Cyrus will always make headlines over true talent and will always obscure pure musical talent much in the way that AAA titles will always over-shadow games like DUST
But the trick isn't to make your game like those games, it's to make your game so solid and unique that it gives people a reason to play your game over the more popular titles!
However potential can only see you through so far! I talked to my friend, I told him all the suits all the roles, all the modules, he was very impressed about the customisation possibilites however I couldn't possibly bring him into the game.
We need balanced suits and gunplay, we need dedicated roles for the suits. I'm not going to make a list, I've done that many times. |

Honestly decent matchmaking will fix most of DUST's problems.
Squad A and Squad B need to be separated.
The matchmaker needs to wait longer if a squad is on one side, it needs to wait for another squad to go on the other side for more balanced games.
Then if it can't? Put all randoms together, on both sides. I'll help out, I'll be there, I'll give them a proper spawn point, make sure they're healed and have ammo and make the kills too!
I'll show them how much fun DUST can be when you play to your role and have support! But I can't help anybody out if they're getting stomped on by 2 squads.
Everybody loses fun games, even if they lose. If both sides push then there's your chance to get in amongst the action and actually enjoy what dust has to offer!
You can't do that from behind the redline!
I play solo 99% of the time, I hope to play with randoms because it's fun, they don't quite know what to do but when the action pinpoints on a certain place, you can bet your bottom dollar that every single one of those randoms will be engaged in the battle.
Death doesn't matter to them, I've taken many deaths from MLT guys because they were in your face, they weren't trying to protect some meaningless stat.
But they are losing ISK. Let's have ISK bonuses for new players, reward them HEARTILY for killing proto suits.
Make the maps smaller, focus the action, make it clearer as to what you're supposed to do. Have simpler game modes, remove tanks and airstrikes from ambush, give the new players which your game relies on a fighting chance!
Hell I love playing amongst new players, even if they don't know what they're doing they just have fun, pure unadulterated fun. When a proto squad rolls through, they're not having fun. They will never get to proto. They will never become competitive players.
Don't stunt the growth, let the flowers blossom and grow! |

That might be a deal breaker for me on this game. The point of EVE and Dust is to foster large scale collaborative game play efforts that effectively generate player created content in real time and meta game play. I'm pretty much against anything that gets in the way of that. That level of interaction and cross platform gaming IS the thing that keeps the game from slipping down the COD and BF slope.
with bigger game modes im all for team deploy
i just don't think it would work unless it's 32v32 |
