With people having the free bpo lav's it cheap and quick.tankers lose a over 100k on average take while seen bpo lav with re cost 5 or 6 k. So .y question is what do most mercs think of this tactic.: |

Jihad jeeps are one of the few effective av options left in this game.

jihaad jeeps aren't a foolproof way to kill a tank. After being surprised maybe once you should assume every LAV is laden with explosives if its even moving in your general direction. I also can't tell you how many times a tank has been stupid enough to blow themselves up shooting me after I've crashed into them but not exploded. If an lav is anywhere within re range don't blow it up. move a safe distance then engage it. Suicide jeep take about minute to set up, so you can start timing and expecting them once you know someone has resorted to the tactic.
I will it admit its very effective for the price but so are many thing in this game. A militia fit tank only cost 70k and can cause millions in damage on a very good day with a good driver or get blown up 6 times in a row to suicide jeeps because they were going solo and not checking their corners. I also think infantry AV might need looked at. The forge gun is close to a good place, but swarms seem to have been hit a little hard.

Nope just the most effective way to take out tanks without using another tank, I had 7 REs on my LAV and a sec before I crashed it into a gunnlogi he hit his hardeners, I blew up and he took no damage, so yeah they can be countered.

The BPOs LAVs are only owned by so few people since BPOs are no longer available in the market. You can only acquire them via a forum auction from someone who previously purchased a code back when they were available.
Anyways, back on topic.
It's a cheap tactic, yes. But regardless of what you and I think about it, it's a legitimate tactic. Just like snipers who camp in the redline with a Thale's, it's a legit tactic. Just like a Rail Tank camped in the redline high up in a mountain, it's a legit tactic. Just like a dropship catapulting its crew from one side of the map to the other in less than a minute, it's a legit tactic.
Any tactic used in wartime is always a valid tactic regardless of how lame it is. Why? To answer that question, you'll need to look at the oldest known biblical question of them all. Why did Cane kill Abel? Because he was Able.

i think they are fine.
there are ways to counter it, and awareness and teamwork make them rather easy to deal with. you may lose a tank to it occasionally but i dont take issue with that :P

I don't mind losing a tank to a jihad jeep anymore for two reasons:
1. Im not a soma/sica-scrub tanker, but an experienced tanker older than 1.7. AV-weapons can barely touch me.
2. I tend to earn at least 350.000 isk when I use a tank in a match. Losing a 165.000 isk tank still nets me a profit.
So, no hard feelings to all you jihad-jeepers out there. I know it must be hard for you having to resort to such desperate measures to stop me. |

BPO lav with a milita booster... BPO logi with BPO rifle and remote explosive and f45 remotes... total cost about 10k. YELLIN ALALALALALA AKHBAH as i plow through a tank... priceless
on another note.. if you are a tank... have your infantry lay down prox explosives on main road ways... good way to counter jihads from blowing up friendly tanks.
