And you don't have a scanner. 1. Identify the type
This is the easiest step. If it's a minmatar scout, it's a minmatar scout. The importance is to recognize their strengths. Minmatar Scouts:
- Very Fast
- Most likely shield tanked
- Low HP
Gallente Scout:
- The more tanky scout, can be fast too
- Good Passive scan range
Ok so you have your scouts. Right now, you are looking at Captain Obvious. But what's behind these things is that they will use what they got.
If you are hunting a gallente scout, remember that it is quite possible that they are running a 30-50 meter passive scan radius, so they'll know exactly where you are and will see you coming from behind the corner. I am a gallente scout, you can take my word for it. Gallente Scouts are walking passive scanners, so don't try to follow them unless you are hot on their heels.
If you are hunting a minmatar scout it's best if you imagine where they are going. They are fast and if you try to stick to a trail you will lose them and they may end up behind you. The trick is to think about a possible place to go and hide nearby. They aren't gallente scouts so they probably won't have you in their scopes at all time. But they do have 16 meter passive at basal so think about that. If you don't know the map well enough don't even try. Move on and keep note.
2. Look behind you
That's where a scout is. Look in front, that's where a scout is. Scouts have low profile and are very hard to detect at high levels. They can and will get behind you if they are there. Shotguns are big problem, but their use amongst scouts is declining more or less. Most are picking up Assault Rifles, Combat Rifles, and Rail Rifles. So they can kill as fast everyone else and probably win because they have the first shot usually. Don't give scouts the first shot. Look behind you, frequently. Check the sides too. Look high and low, left and right. They're sneaky *******.
3. Scouts do Squats
Scouts have the highest jump in the game. No seriously it's like being able to escape via super feet. We are Olympians. So remember that. I got shotgun headshots whenever I jumped. The shotgun scouts are more like Velociraptors and remember in Jurassic Park they always jumped onto their prey. So go find a hill, get the high ground.
Pack Protoscanners and Duvolle Focused. Get your profile lower than 45, so you can get below a scout's precision. Pack a good strong sidearm, Scrambler Pistols or Good SMG. *can someone check for me what the profile of RE's are?*
Bring it on, I want "UltraHard Mode"
Looking For: Corp
If a scout runs out of all ammunition behind enemy lines, they did something right.

Fear the Scout Duvolle Focused are nothing to laugh at. It wrecks scout fittings. Protoype Scanners force me to give up one of my slots for a profile dampener. It's about forcing the scout to sacrifice fitting space.
You and I know that you can't get below 28 without a dampener. ADV scanners get light frames and new scouts. Proto scouts are annoyed by Proto scanners. Proto scouts are raped by Duvolle focused scanner (the 15 db one).

Biggest thing scouts have against me is my 250ms latency.... Yes it does. It's how I lay traps.

Do the precision mods let you short range see through walls? All other suits run passive scans of only 10 meters. You also need a low enough precision to pick up people, so passive scan is not very useful for all the other suits.
But on the gallente suit it is very useful.
Do Not Feed The Imperfects. Feeding them may disrupt the natural setting.
