Agreed, to truly advance they'd have to have united as one rather than having borders and boundaries on one insignificant planet.
Our planet is very loud with the amount of bull ish we broadcast, might be too much of a headache to visit as well, just imagine being alien and tuning into our airwaves, maximum headache lol.

I feel like even if they could catch our airwaves it would be a complete mess of incomprehensible garbage to them. They would know something is sending them out but wouldn't be able to understand a lick of it.
Mind would be blown just hearing their sounds, the sounds of their spacecraft, they way it works, and all the subtle nuances that would have to be learned between 2 intelligent species. I feel like something as simple as a sneeze could be misconstrued very easily and it would just be great if we could feel each other out and understand each other before trying to blow each other off the face of the Earth because of a simple misunderstanding. |

If they we're more advanced I think that anything we'd do or try to do would be for them the same as us watching say Teletubbies, completely wrong, debauched, dumb and insignificant, laughable at best.
They might consider a fraction of our species intelligent enough to be on par with what they define as a 15 year old.
They'd probably see parasites as the most abundant living being and just consider us a bigger parasite. From the get go with their technological advances, they may have never even used nothing but renewable clean energy, have no concept of meaningless violence etc.
We could end up being one of the most psychotic and grotesque brings in the universe, our very nature is psychotic, when did you last think about all the animals you've eaten, yeah, I don't give two fks either. Chicken all the way
