Unfortunately the rail rifle won, i shot him in the face and he shot me... somewhere... idk... but within 2m i wish a shotgun would win over most weapons.

Same thing happened to me when I was using an Assault Rifle :/ IMO, the Rail Rifle is far too effective at all ranges. So effective that it can out do all other weapons, even in their optimal. The only way to avoid dying is too dodge their shots :I

Lol, it took three shots from my Creodron to take down a Gal Logi in CQC, and thats with a Complex damage mod.
Shotguns need +2 Pellets per level (12 at Basic, 14 at ADV, 16 at Proto) and an increase in optimal.
Breach need the same thing, a damage increase, and an increase in optimal too.
DUST is so broken, even my PS3 refuses to let me play it.

Definitely agree about the Rail Rifle being too effective. I fought a RR in pretty much CQ with my CR and got murdered. Last I check, it was supposed to be a long range weapon like the laser rifle. |

The problem has more to do with the SG than the RR.
The Shotgun's current alpha doesn't offset its low rate of fire and extremely limited range. The shotgun's long-standing record of underperformance versus rifles in CQC could and should be fixed. Buffing the SG is not only warranted; it makes more sense than nerfing rifles.
Disclaimer: I use both weapons regularly (Proficiency IV in Rail Rifle, IV in Shotgun). |

who am i kidding? i never engage an Assault RR, unless i'm using one myself! that thing will drop you faster then you can blink.

I've tried damage modded kr17 breach shotties, i've tried triple shield extender k5 specialists, they're passable- until a frontline fit using rail rifles comes into play. Oddly my kr17 breach doesn't even instakill MILITIA amarr mediums...! Shotguns need some serious love- or all AR types need nerfed. My 363 to 80 HP scout should survive past 6 standard RR shots, but it doesn't. kaalakiota RR's somehow do 90-115 damage a shot, and i'm not joking.(got hit 2x by a Krr at 80m, death screen says 240hp.)

The aRR is utter crap at range though. You're much better off (IMO) using the standard RR and carrying a high alpha sidearm for CQC openings/closings. |

Shotguns definitely lack in comparison to rifles in CQC. I hate how precise you must be with the shotgun to make up for the low rof. The RR user can literally close their eyes and hold trigger sweeping left and right and likely beat the shotgun. All rifles really.

my HMG loses to a CR the in my optimal range
that thing does more dmg than usual my total EHP of 1200 goes away just like that

Scouts are really easy to just headshot while they're running ar you with a shotty. He could've done it with any weapon.

It's not that, it's that once they get hit in the back they turn an jump backwards and your sg is out of range, scouts still need two shots to kill my scout, figure that out |
