1) lack of players: eve-offline.net/?server=dust
solution: release dust on pc, its big brother is on pc, i dare to say 2/3 of eve would play it if it where on pc, and, shooters naturally belong to pc. IDK I have had a lot more fun playing console shooters than PC Shooters. Adding A PC version may fix a large number of issues though not the least of which being player count.

Agreed. If you look at what they just did with vehicles, there were many other options open to them, instead they made tanks absolutely the most OP thing ever and instead of adding more different types of modules there are less and more powerful modules. Looking at armor hardeners specifically they *SHOULD* be damage specific, having one hardener cover all types of damage is ridiculous, just looking at Eve modules I know that CCP Shanghai stays well away from anything involving saving themselves programming time. All the tanking modules, damage mods and even PG/CPU mods have baseline modules that could have been used and if not used completely the same, then at least scaled down according to the base attributes of the drop suits. Smoking the Aurum Pipe has got the devs thinking they need to do something completely new, which is absolutely not the case. They are free to port over CCP assets from Eve to use in Dust, no one would complain. Anyone else remember seeing the burning pieces of the Titan on the battlefield?

When i speak about shooters, i mean quake2, quake3, unreal tournament, enemy territory, oldschool counter strike, maybe even call of duty 1 and battlefield 1, not these call of dutys and battlefields of today xD they are so............. i understand that you might have played counter strike 1.6 sometimes but as a newbie, you wouldnt have had much fun on those games where most of the people is old school and know all the tricks, and jumping techniques, etc. it might be frustrating, but let me assure you, counter strike has the best hitdetection ever, you knew when you shot a gun where each bullet was going, where was it hitting, it was even the expression on the cs slang that "this server smoke bullets" when you shot and you knew, because you where so experienced that you just knew, that that bullet hit your foe's head, and it didnt, and he killed you... the level of skill one could achieve was so high that one could instinctively learn how the recoil worked on each weapon that you could rectify it with your own skill, see this video to see what i mean, the first spray shows where the bullets go without rectifying it, the second is with rectifying, this is one of the best 1.6 players http://youtu.be/up5J6DLRe_8?t=38s , not to say the best, you wont see this on any other game, and its just because the old school shooters where not about the graphics only, but to make players become real experts and competition. But from a few years now, aaaaall games have no recoil, starting at battlefield 2, and call of duty 2, they dont have any kind of jump tricks, i can understand that games don't have jump tricks, one cannot really change direction on the air, its just phisics, but recoil? cmon, there are some beretta shotguns that have almost no recoil, but they are designed to do so, get a steyr aug, get a g36, those weapons are modern weapons and they have recoil, but not on games... And games dont need to be simulators like ARMA or Red Orchestra, when i mean recoil, those are combat simulators, but a lil bit of recoil, where you must stop shooting to be accurate after 3 or 4 bullets would increase the TTK and require more skill, and well, Aim Assistance is another issue, that and Rail Rifle its just a bad joke. While I agree that the old games were on PC (old Wolfenstein player not 3D, quake, some Rainbow Six) I feel the power of immersion with a DS3 controller is significantly better. It puts feedback in your hands and allows your direct movements to influence the outcome of a battle rather than a bunch of keyboard button pushes. Maybe I am just deluding myself.

Well, i see what youre saying about damage types, it would be more lore friendly and it would be more consistent between eve and dust right? but the vehicles have less slots than frigates so i dont see how one could fit two invuls, 1 em resistance amplifier and 1 thermal rig on a caldari tank, a shield extender to give more hp pool and a shield booster, and of course an afterburner (overdrive in this case), i just dont see how it could, because they just dont have enough slots... the change should be much much bigger, and CCP doesnt give a ****. One thing that really amuses me about CCP Shanghai from the last patchnotes is that super " We have improved vehicle physics"......... WTF armor tanks, wich weight tons can jump like if they where motocross bikes... xD LAV's they dont have springs, you get a lil' pump of the road and well... it just becomes a rolling car... but hey, it only takes 40% of its shields, and on the 1st roll, the 4 other rolls dont do camage... same happens when you go at max speed and hit a wall, from the front, what would wreck any vehicle, it again only loses 40% of its shields, but instead, if i just slightly scratch a HAV, i explode... its so stupid, its so barely programmed that makes me wonder if the devs have played their game at least one time... Have you ever played NFS Most Wanted? The statement made by CCP is relevant and true only if this was their plan, so to them it is improved. On the other hand there are certain improvements that should be made but haven't been because tanks are so expensive and tankers would cry or something similar, for instance I like the thought about a dropship being able to strafe and kill a tank. I like seeing tanks exploding, they should be situationally useful not the I don't want to die so I'll drive a Sica solution.
