Going toe to toe with a tank with just my remote explosives, managed to use cover so I could plant three on his hull.
I have 100 HP left, I manage to GTFO, activate the remote explosives aaaaand.... Tank not dead.
I am not amused about the fact that three remote explosives aren't enough to get rid of even the base HP of a tank. I risk my clone to try and get up close, and the tanker WILL see me because of third person. If I manage to get close, often the tanker will move and won't let me plant all three remotes.
In the rare times I do manage to do it, AND survive as I run away, he just eats the blast and goes back to his redline to regenerate.

Personally I think we need a dedicated AV dropsuit.
Maybe a bonus to the amount of active or carried RE's. Or a bounus to the number of AV nades that can be carried.
AV is more than a role now.

Try it with Boundless remotes, you can carry 4 of those...should do the trick.
If you can get a couple AV nades or fluxes off that should take the shields down enough that the 3 remotes will kill.
Or if you have them, take a shot with the PlC or Swarms...preferably PlC.
I know the combination of this is nearly impossible unless the tank is completely stationary and doesn't notice you. |

AV is more than a role now. Even if you could carry more, do you think the tanker will let you plant all of those?
It's rare that you have time to plant all three, tankers got a perfect view of everything because of third person, so they'll just move away.

dependson the tank.
many militia go down in 3. even some higher level ones go down in 3, if they are silly enough to put everything in hardeners and damage mods, instead of extra tank.
and a lot of times, they will survive with just a few hundred left, in which case a quick AV grenade finishes them off.

Uhh, I am talking about militia tanks.
Three remotes can't even get past the base HP of tanks.

I use an Amarr logi, plc, flux nades and three prox mines - two advanced and one standard. The armor bonus from the suit helps with hp and the self rep is good and the three slots allows 8 proxes out at once, 9 if you hit a NH. It works well and isn't that expensive.

I know I use a minmatar logi with RE's and proxies. One more the thing Logistics suits do better than an assaults.
And I just got my forge gun to level V in an effort to adapt. But shouldn't you have to use a logi to you you know logi? If I have to skill into yet another dropsuit I would want that suit to specialzed for its role and use.
The more I read posts about how OP tanks are, the tatics "PRO AV forum warriors" use to solo, and see how tanks perform in game the more I think a dedicated AV suit with bonuses focused on AV is needed. Infantry should not have to settle with just pushing a tank back. Just my thoughts.

Silly Cat you had to place ten remotes, plus offer a honeyed lamb to the DEVS plus have six forge gunners, plus five swarmers just to drop its shields so say most "tankers"...lol!

You can also run proxies with a nanohive, takes a bit more time but then you can lay the 9 down. Or run Proto and lay even more down.
Or if you are running FW you can mix in some remotes, the proxy explosion will set them off. It's actually the most damaging way to set up as remotes do much more damage.
Proximity mines aren't very useful themselves because they do low damage and don't get the underside bonus like they should. Plus these are totally defensive but are made worthless against hardeners, so any line you set up is easily crossed.

Demolitions is a valid logistics role you know.
btw cat_merc, were you using standard, or advanced+ remotes? I heard that standard remotes do half the damage that standard ones do.

Just have to pop in here really quick.
Putting them on the tank's weak spot is not the same as hitting them with Swarms, Plasma Cannon, or Forge Gun in their weak spot. From my experience, AV nades and R/E's do not do damage to weak spots. Unless someone wants to post a video and prove me wrong. I'll also be happy to help in any testing for that.
Secondly, Remote Explosive does explosive damage. Hence it does 80% damage to shields and 120% to armor. I'll figure out math calculations if anyone wants to know what 3 R/E's will do to a stock Gunlogi but I have to play a match real quick.
