I'm going to be honest, a large bulk of the roleplaying community for DUST needs some serious work. Right now it seems like the only people that know what they are doing are the EVE pilots with DUST alts. Aside from that and a select few (and if you are actually taking the time to read and post in this thread you are probably one of those select few) a majority of the users are seeming to less and less be people dedicated to getting into the swing of New Eden and more seem to be...
Well, like every other member of the DUST community. Worthless.

Okay, I've seen this a lot, and the thing about that is... You need to keep in mind that next to capsuleers we are second class citizens in CCP's eyes.
EVE pilots pay a monthly fee in the PLEX they have to purchase, making them CCP's main source of income. As such, you need an ACTIVE account to post on their forums. If you want your voice heard then you need to pay the month pilot's license fee. (I could be wrong about that, but the fact still stands that pilots pay for their forum use and we don't.)
Mercenaries on the other hand don't need to pay a monthly fee for use, so we really aren't entitled to sharing the same benefits as Capsuleers, including the use of their forum. The biggest work around if you are bound and determined to RP with capsuleers as a mercenary is to get in contact on the NeoComm channel for the capsuleer IGS. I try to keep semi-active on that and really have been trying to show that the DUST community has a least SOME competent RP talent lined up, and they have all been really accepting.
HOWEVER...
Imagine for a moment that you've been playing EVE online for years, paying per month, building up massive RP corporations and making a name for yourself... And now all of a sudden you have to share a forum with some preteen punk who doesn't even pay for his membership and hasn't read any of the lore.
You think the RP community is hostile now? Imagine then.
