Id rather play stable, without bigger lags and bugs game, than one with full racial thingies many of lags and bugs. I think ccp is going this way, they want to add new stuff but lags/bugs can mess it.
Not counting weird lags in domis and FW, theres many glitches/bugs that always makes me angry : 1. Bad redline clock and line. I got suicide with 6 sec left (time start good with 20) and my veh get autodestroyed first at (it was 2m away from line, and i didnt get clock alert)
2. Jihad jeep now many time jumps on tanks like on a ramp, i can only now hit his flank without jumping
3. When u drive in lav near supply and open map, you'll get glitched. It means when u close map u cant drive,it stays in same spot, when u exit it, you commite suicide and lav destroys itself. (i lose few time chance to jihad madrugars because of this glitch)
4. Rails (large turret) sometimes (pretty often) when i shoot with it, ammo goes down but shoots arent going. They appear after 3-4sec and arent counting as shoots (not registered).
These are annyoing things. Im sure theres more but i didnt catch all.
So it goes to you. What you prefer, *Gameplay and little Technical problems *or Content (racial stuff) with technical issues in lags and bugs.
I choose technical side.
tl:dr - Gameplay or Content?

I think new content and bugs go hand in hand. Eve side they've seem to got to grips with it, where they release big content patches, then spend the next few minor patches fixing bugs. I think Dust side it will take some time to get to this, and they also have a different release cycle. Also as the roadmap is opaque at the moment it's hard to see if they're going to switch to bigger content releases, or more hotfixes while maintaining a constant monthly patch cycle. I have a feeling that until the EP gives us his big speech then we have no idea how things are going to change...
To answer your question though, I prefer content... and I'll live with a few bugs.

I am sure CCP is working on the bugs in the game, but now its time to get more diversity in the game, now its still only grinding ( only using tanks now, kidding )
The same old maps, gamemodes, same players, some new content, but we need a lot more, I dont now how many empty patch we will handle.
It must be possible to do 2 things at the same time, I do think more players quit due to the everlasting grinding where your bulllet dosent matter at all. There is not much connection between Dust and EVE .
I am more in the catogry, give us much more, maps, gamemodes etc.

Maps and gememodes can be while keeping good technical side. I mean that ccp more focus on new guns, balance vehs and suits. But new gun means old will be even more forgotten. Already we dont use MD,Flaylock, PC,shotty (not many times used now),burst/breach variants. |

Umm play a heavy. We have no diversity. Amarr suit minatar BMG. And commando suits don't count. Since they can't use heavy weapons. Yeah some content is needed. |

Equipment induced lag is a major issue but only one team can work on that. After a year of working on the core it's time to add content.

The fact that the Commando cannot carry a heavy weapon does not make it any less of a heavy suit. The Commando is the result of when an angry heavy frame corners a medium frame in a dark alley. It is the only heavy frame capable of carrying equipment. The Minmatar's Commando will be the fastest heavy suit in the game. Gallente's heavies will be armor tanked to the extreme, Caldari will be shield tanked.
I can't wait for Caldari's Commando, since I have a hunch that it will have a high slot at base.

Content. I like having options and customization. Also we need to have all options on the table if we're ever going to be balanced.
Sure gameplay can use some tweaks and some things should be changed to make the game more enjoyable but perpetually doing the same things ad infinum and balancing on against theoretical future content doesn't do so well. And just so you know lag isn't entirely dependent on hardware/software so they're limited in what they can do unless they start region locking us. |

Agree with original poster - gameplay needs attention if Dust is to ever stop haemorrhaging players to other, more technically polished. games.
I can't really see how anyone can claim that "we've had a year working on core", the only bone thrown to those of us facing a pretty much horrible and unplayable gaming experience was at the Fanfest presentation. After a full-length presentation detailing new features and content, we had the almost off-hand comment that "it's also more performant."
But it wasn't, and it's become worse with every subsequent release. The justified chorus of complaints after 1.7 should have focussed CCP's minds, but I'm losing faith, so here it is in simple terms...
I was one of the original beta testers, and was waiting for years before that for Dust to be released. Now I almost never play, and every time I think "maybe I'll give Dust another try" I'm left disappointed that it's not living up to its immense promise and potential. I'd love to give money to CCP, and fund future development of Dust by spending AUR. But the fact is that gameplay is so borked that the extra 5% edge I might get from paying for AUR items would be lost in the noise compared to the 75% edge I lose every game due to shockingly poor performance. Why would players ever spend money on virtual equipment which won't improve their game and will probably be lost due to screen stutter?! Yes, it's important to fill out the field with all equipment (god knows I've been waiting for Caldari heavy and scout suits), but unless the game becomes playable and enjoyable for *everyone*, players won't invest real money in their gameplay, and will continue to leave. |
