If you get minimum wage and work for two shifts and you will have enough to buy the collector's edition.
300 million isk for this thing is basically a slave wage cost.
If you're buying BPOs to save ISK, it's even worse, since the only ISK BPOs directly contribute to the pot is what you save in gear costs when you die. At 250 hours you've paid off the BPOs; you have not made a profit by buying them. If you had grinded those 250 hours without buying the BPOs and instead buying STD gear, you'd end up with far more ISK. Let's say you die 5000 times in those 250 hours making 300 million.
500m Buy BPOs, 200m. Makes 300m, 500m. Lost 5000 suits worth 5.5k ISK, 472m.
500m Makes 300m, 800m. Lost 5000 suits worth 10k ISK (no BPOs), 750m.
Yeah. Buying BPOs is only worth it for collector's value or if you can resell them on the market later.
Many suits I've worn, many burdens I've borne, for the oaths I've sworn.

I got mine for free because I won a tournament so what does that mean for me? If you like it because it's Templar and use it, great. Otherwise, you should've sold it and spent the ISK on thousands of STD suits to replace the BPOs in your fits with hundreds of millions left over for proto gear and vehicles; what I regret not doing.
Also, paying ISK is worth it if you like the gear itself. It's fun to use, it's nice to have and once your wallet is big enough to afford BPOs naturally, you probably won't notice the missing ISK much.
