Summ Dude wrote:I know not many people bring up the "Slayer Logi" problem a whole lot these days, but I just had a sudden thought on a possible solution, so here we go. Apologies if someone already suggested something similar to this in the past. And since I know people hate the nerf hammer, I'm trying to keep it pretty light.
1) Give Logistics suits the same base armor and shields as the Assault suit of the appropriate race.
2) Adjust high and low slots so that Logis have one less total module slot than Assaults of the same race for each tier.
3) Adjust CPU and PG to be more in line with Assaults, or potentially even slightly less.
4) Change the base Logi suit bonus to: 5-10% reduction to Equipment fitting costs per level.
5) Give the Logistics dropsuits themselves a base armor repair rate, scaling with tiers (1 HP/S at Standard, 3 HP/S at Advanced, 5 HP/S at Prototype).
And that's it. WIth this in place, Logis could no longer out-tank or out-damage Assaults, but also wouldn't be left completely gimped HP-wise. They could still fit modules and weapons as they please, but with the reduced CPU and PG and the new bonus, Logis would be much more equipment and support based. But I'm ok with Logis keeping that passive armor repair; let the guys who heal everyone else be able to heal up themselves.
So, what's everyone think?
I like this idea somewhat, but I have to disagree with Assault out tanking, out speeding, and out damaging a Logistics suits; specially when a Logistics suits is more expensive + being slower makes them extra vulnerable to damage and they have to go into the middle of fire to provide support, (Imagine a scout running at heavy speeds that's just unfair) i'd rather this happen.
Give Logistics suits the current Assault suits and Armor HP. Then Give Assault suits the Logistics slot configuration and CPU/PG -15%. Now both suits have same survivability and same slots, from here remove two equipment slots from the Assault suit and give them a side arm. From this point give the Assaults a bonus to weapon damage of 10% at level, and give Logistics suits a HP buff of 10% (2% armor 2% shields per level). Know we have the Assault suit being a damage dealer, and the Logistics suits a damage taker so 1v1 they are balanced, until one runs out of ammo. From here increase the Logistics suits CPU/PG by 10%, reduce their speed by 5%. And either give all suits a passive armor repair or buff armor repairers, and a severe penalty for stacking damage modifiers.
So to summarize here is a Logistics GK.0 and a Assault GK.0 (Should be tiercided for bonus points so this applies to all suits aside from the CPU/PG)
Logistics GK.0
Shield 120 Armor 210 3 High 5 Low 72 PG 363 CPU 4 EQ 1 Light weapon 1 Grenade slot 4.75 m/s 20 HP/s Shield rate 7/10 s Delay 0 Armor repair
Assault GK.0
Shield 120 Armor 210 3 High 5 Low 66 PG 330 CPU 2 EQ 1 Light weapon 1 Sidearm 1 Grenade Slot 5.0 m/s 20 HP/s Shield rate 7/10 Delay 0 Armor repair
This restricts Logistics from being able to go proto equipment and a proto weapon, they can choose either or and have an "Assault build' but it will not compare to a Assault suit since the Assault suit has the freedom to go proto weapon and ADV equipment + a 10% damage buff on top of that proto weapon. |

1.bonus is op 2.way too many slots 3.too much pg cpu
solution 1.change bonus to equipment pg/cpu reduction 2.-1 slot on each suit high or low depending on suit 3.lowered significantly
Can't reduce the tank on a Logistics suit without buffing something else, like the speed etc. This is more of a nerf to kill Logistics, not modify their playstyle. |

Summ Dude wrote:Someone's gonna need to explain this to me, but why shouldn't Assault suits out damage, tank, and speed Logis? Really, why not? Where's the logic? Why should the supportive/healer character have more HP than the frontline soldier? Why does that make sense? I get that Logis get shot at, so does everyone else. But it doesn't really make sense to me that the support guy out-tanks the frontline guy. I mean, TTK is too short right now, but that affects everyone, and it's a separate issue.
For starters a logistics suit is usually 20-40% more expensive than a assault suit. Aside from that the Logistics suit has to run into the middle of combat or be in the middle of combat to provide support so what's the point of him even being there if he is going to be destroyed (players love easy kills). Obviously it makes sense for a Assault to out damage a Support class, even out speed. But out tank wouldn't make sense when usually it's the support sucking up A lot Of Damage For His team. Have you ever seen a Logistics revive you while blocking bullets? Yeah that 2-3 seconds of tanking means a lot.
Also making a suit that can take damage, and dish it out is called a heavy suit at this point your not only messing with the Assault/Logistics balance but the Assault/Heavy balance. |

Big deal. but considering their role... id remove the light weapon slot. true logis dont need them cause theyre too busy doing their jobs.
If you remove the light weapon slot from a Logi suit the Logi class would die.
You only need 3 types of EQ to be field viable. A scanner, a nanohive, and a drop uplink, since you can equip a squad with up to six players you put 6 assaults and equip every 2 with one of this equipment. Know as a whole the squad has the versatility of 2 Logistics suits and 6 Assaults, on the other hand take 2 no light weapon Logistics and put them in said squad, as a whole squad has the versatility of 2 Logistics suits and 4 Assaults. |
