Hey, I just wanted some help figuring out what bonus I'd get from using one Complex precision enhancer. I'm not sure what the base scan fedelity of a med-frame is, but I want to know If it makes sense to use them.
If you do answer (which I'd be very grateful), please take into account that people have to put on one enhanced and one basic dampener (or one complex) to beat scans. If the bonus and the module won't beat that, then there's no point in using them.
Thanks again.

Assuming you had Lvl 5 Precision Enhancement, one complex enhancer on a medium frame would give you 36dB scan precision. However, your scan radius would still be only 10m unless you skilled up range amplification and used amplifiers. In general I find it worthless to skill into passive scan attributes unless you are a Gallente scout who doesn't want to run an active scanner. |

Thanks!
So as I recall, advanced active scanners can pick up anything with 36DB or over. My new question is: Would it be accurate to say that with one complex scan enhancer, I would essentially have a passive advanced active scanner?

Actually, my mistake. If you were a Logi, you'd get the 36dB scan precision. On an assault or basic frame, scan precision starts at 55dB, so you'd have 39.6dB when using a complex enhancer.
Regardless, your scan radius is still only 10m which is nothing. |

Okay. I'm just trying to make my suit as versatile as possible, and a boost to scan precision might help out. I could just get the skill for range amps and have a *little* better passive range (I know it would top out at 15m, but its something)

The only way to really make passive scan viable is to run a scout as the base. They have a lower inherent fidelity and higher base scan radius. With a precision enhancer and range amplifier equipped you can catch most suits from a reasonable distance.
The Gil scout would be the best bet for it as they get an additional +10% scan range per level, so they can get their passive scan radius out to a reasonable distance with one amplifier. |
