i like this forum as i can post info and i get answers, heh. not like some other games who troll you endlessly; as i continue to make progress, ill keep checking in here. :O
MD is a hard weapon to use for any logi except for Amarr, simply because it's your main, but if it's working for you, great. As a logi, I think it's best to pick one gun you like and stick with it, for a number of reasons:
1) you will become more proficient at it, you learn where it is most effective and you begin to develope an "ingrained" sense of the range you should be engaging at. You can never go wrong with a GEK, but personally I'm preferring rails these days. An SB 39 lets you take more of a back seat to the slayers, as you should, but still do some beastly damage from afar. But whatever you decide, as a logi I would recommend picking one preferred weapon, skilling into prof 3, and staying there for a good long time. Don't make the mistake of spreading a significant amount of SP over the Weapons category, if you want to be a true logi.
2) your SP is more valuable in your role, so most of it should be going in the Dropsuit Upgrades category. A good logi, skilled in to level 3/4 hives, uplinks and rep tool, can put his squad halfway to an orbital before you can blink. At their best, a logi is a WP generator, and in a good squad, can help to generate 2 and 3 orbitals or more during a match, which can make all the difference in winning or not. It's not unusual for me to hit 2000 WP or more during a match.
If you really want to logi, you may wish to consider Gallente. I'm preferring it over my Advanced Min suits these days. With the armor and the suit's bonus of CPU/PG reductions to equipment, you can create some pretty powerful fittings on an advanced suit, compared to advance Min. My main J4yne is maxed in this regard (Level 5 into all skills that either max available or reduce module/weapon power requirements of CPU/PG) and has about 15 mil SP, and I'm already able to create more powerful fitting on my advanced Gal "Thor" toon at 8 Mil SP, with level 4 into Gal logistics suits, and a couple levels in to DS Upgrades. Just something to consider.
