Make the slowed regen not apply if the vehicle has its hardeners up, and you have a deal. |

Remember back when one person with proto swarms could chase off a tank in one magazine? That was OP. It should taek 2-3 people to down a tank in one mag.
However, the pendulum has swung too far back in the other direction, mainly because tanks are so easy to spam because of how cheap they are. So why don't we
1. Limit the amount of HAVs that can spawn.
2. Only allow one hardener to be fitted, or have horrible stacking penalties to fit more than one.
3. Slow HAV spped significantly, but butt their health somewhat, to emphasize their ability to stand and deliver, but not to escape.
4. Breach RE that does 3500 damage in a 0.5m radius , and buff proxies to 2500 damage with reduced activation timers. |

My idea is that a tank needs to be able to stand and deliver, but it should take awhile for it to get where it needs to stand. IMO, a scout with kincats and sprinting should outrun any tank, save for if it fits speed modules.
Limiting hardeners either by a raw number limit of one or horrendous stacking penalties if two are fit would emphasize that window of opportunity where tanks can take any and all AV comers. But when that window closes, he should be vulnerable to counter attack by any surviving AV players, who now have a relatively easy target for them to brutalize. So it is in the tankers best interest to coordinate with infantry to kill the enemy before his hardeners enter cooldown.
Breach RE and buffed proxies mean infantry have more tools to kill HAVs, and it doesn't upset the balance of AV vs dropships or LAVs (who, I believe, should be able to outrun the timer on a proxy. The counter to them? swarms, which have increased missile speed to deal with them.)
An HAV should be a large threat in whatever area it is in. But they should only be such a large threat when A. their hardeners are up and B. when they cannot get from one part of the map to another in seconds. |
