While tank vs tank battles are best ever in history of Dust 514, tank spam (tankbush) is pain in the butt.
Also, the tactical element of even tank fights gets dull if having more tanks dominates automatically. Getting back into fighting position is unreasonably hard under red tank superiority, meaning good fights are over within first 5mins.
[BIG SUGGESTION:] To balance tank spam, add incremental delivery time(!) Meaning the more tanks you have, the longer your team has to wait for Bolas delivery to bring them in. The first ones at normal speed, thereafter increasing the delivery time logarhytmically.
IMPLICATIONS:
- It would be easier to have at least some tanks (2-3) on field to help counter while keeping the max number on is harder.
- Possibly the sixth or seventh tanker might decide not to bring his in if he would have to wait too long, therefore lessening the total number of tanks.
REASONS BEHIND SUGGESTION: Limiting max number of tanks to 2-3 is ridiculous. We need softer methods. Trying to balance multiple tanks by endlessly nerfing/buffing AVvsTanks is futile.

This could be a way to connect dust and eve......I'm totally illiterate when it comes to eve so bear with me here
Does the war barge that we are in before the match show up in eve? Where do rdvs come from the MCC or the war barge? How long does it actually take for the rdv to fly back and forth? Can eve pilots fire upon rdvs that fly back and forth?
What I propose is that in match each deployment of a vehicle should get one quick deploy After that each one should take more time The bolas could need time to refuel or repair and to pick up the next vehicle you choose... This could also be made into a benefit of destroying bolases.....to make your enemies vehicle deployments take longer
If you can see the war barge in eve then I think you should be Able to shoot down rdvs......so the eve pilot or pilots have more to do and participate in.....they would have to defend their war barge and the rdvs while attacking the enemies |

lol tank spam isn't a big issue and people who think it is just don't know how to kill tanks. last caldari FW i was going anti tank spam against 5 tank spammers. we lost due to bad infantry not because of tank spam. after the 3 waves of tank spam they gave up and only one last blaster was called which died after its first kill. the rest of the time it was just 1 rail tank fighting to dislodge me off of my spot( btw not in the red zone either). 2 infantry avers pushed me off my spot at the end of the match and thats why the last blaster got one kill. i moved back to red line and killed it once i got there. this was on manus peak, one of the better maps for tank power. their tank spam netted 1 kill for 5 people for the whole match. all you need is little teamwork and tank hunters.

Lol you didn't understand.
EDIT: this is not whether you can kill tanks or not, with AV or other tanks. OF COURSE tanks die. This is not only about FW environment even though it is included. This is not about one match anyone picked as an example, anything can happen in a match.

you problem isn't with tanks spam, its with your ability to counter it effectively.

Typical assumption that every post on forums is qq. This isn't ordinary game forums where everything is about one's e-peen. Here some people are actually trying to find balance and as objective views as possible.
I speak from perspective of maxed out tanker as well as AVer. Understand that a tanker finds it dull and boring that after couple of minutes of genuinely good game it degenarates into herding the remaining infantry and destroying every red tank on delivery.
So don't try to make this a personal issue and come here telling what my problem is. If this would be a personal issue I'd guess you weren't here in closed beta in the best times of feedback and improvement. But let's not get there as it is pointless.

ATM, EVE Players cannot see our War Barge, but will be able to in the future.
RDVs are deployed from the War Barge (Behind the leaderboard, you can see them waiting for launch), but technically, they just de-spawn and re-spawn on the planet. They're teleported in.
Instantly.
Nope, because of the above reason. They're not flying back and forth at all.

Like a sign from above, I just went to a match where there were good players on both sides, tank players. Our side won the initial clash within two minutes, maybe less.
After that I controlled one hemisphere of map, blue tank the other. Rest of blue tanks were at center herding reds and keeping them in single spawn are, as it is sensible to do.
As a somewhat nasty thing, Outside tankers rushed in if on their guard area was a red tank deployment and instantly killed it.
Now the real nasty thing is, once reds AVers or jihad jeeps finally earned some tank kills, their effort was quite futile - new replacement was immediate and back to square one - not even pressure at center boiler ever easened up. Reds' AV efforts had absolutely no reward.
Issue isn't whether tanks are killable or not or whether I lose mine nor whether it's fun getting kills (killed six tanks, five onto delivery, lost none) But it is not fun. Yes it's fun running organised and co-op, but the only challenge was in boost module driving ability to get into red dropzone early enough. Whatever happened there was inevitable, no chance for poor reds no matter how good they were tanking.
So TLDR: anything that promotes fun and competition thorough match, not the first minutes, is probably good.

that's lore. It should be less than a secondary concern when balancing the gameplay.
Besides, the 'teleport' effect you are seeing is most likely a decloak and cloak effect, so even lore won't help it there. And besides, I'm not suggesting 'realistic flight and deployment times' that would be as dumb as lore reasoning.
PS: Sorry for you and Mr ladwar if I'm writing more frank than usual or sharper than necessary - I mean no insult.

Where is the "Tank off" button? I would sure as hell check that before every ambush. Could care less most of time... tank spam in ambush is just lame. |

I'm not sure this idea would work because once you have a lot of tanks on the field you don't tend to lose them very frequently so it won't really affect the spammers. Also, it doesn't matter how fast the losing team can bring tanks in if they destroyed on delivery. |

1) Partially true.
2) True
On point 1) Yes the dominant team loses tanks less often - unless they get sloppy, which does happen on occasion. The point is that when they lose one, the replacement tank comes almost instantaneously.
If I happen to lose an HAV in that scenario, I'm rolling in a new one in 30secs or less.
This is not going to be a final solution nor is one needed. But it will most likely even things up a bit.
