Reason being that it is the only assault suit that rocks for an EWAR assault set up.
A few shield extenders and precision enhancers in the highs, complex plates and profile dampeners in the lows, and you've got an all seeing/hidden Cal assault.
Man Amarr Suits are absolutely dreadful and boring in comparison.

Actually, the speed of the Minmatar Assault Suit makes for an even better Assault suit in terms of Flanking and EWAR.
But your not good enough for the Minmatar suits, are you?

I fit my raven c-1 suit like a scout (shield extenders in the highs, profile damps in the low, and the green juice in the other low) with a shotty and nova knives.....man it's so much fun!!!!!!
I took on a scout and one shotted him with my shotty.
Proto guy with Krins AR? Killed him twice!!!!! In one life no less!!!!! (Silly red berry, that's why you never use officer gear in pubs)

Why bother with the plates? Why not put more dampeners or kincats? Or even Green pills?

Caldari suits are a little underrated, I ran nothing but my dragonfly assault for like the first 5 months I played this game. Of course, that's why I find them boring and like my Amarr suits better.
Caldari scout, assuming it ever comes out, should be sweet for EWAR so you can shield tank, keep your speed, and become nearly invisible with dampeners in your lows.
