What is the purpose of the IA5 tactical scrambler? What happened to the proto variations of the burst scrambler pistol and the breach scrambler pistol? |

I don't remember having a prototype burst and breach, Also, the tactical is very useful for headshotting at 20+ meters.

They were deemed useless and CCP ate them like they do other content that disappears without notice. Then, 12months later they've passed through CCPs bowels and are shat out onto dust as hollow, dirty, useless fragments of what they once were. |

I pretty much didn't care for Breach variants on any Gun, but the burst variant doesn't do much damage thus wasting to much ammo. I've been sticking with the Assault variant of the pistol...
I don't know why they've removed them...

Tactical has more zoom, proto breach and burst is still around but not in market, i got a proto burst from the november event i'm sure Django Quik got his proto breach

It's nice to know that people still have this done and what not but when I really would like to know is what are the stats on these guns I never had the pleasure of seeing them. |

There's an imperial viziam scrambler pistol,but no burst,at least not on the market.
IA5 is just OK,but gets outclassed by almost every other scrambler pistol.

Also lower CPU/PG than the adv assault, but with the same RoF.

Can't agree with this.I find the zoom to be minor to be a factor compared to the other pistols.Pound for pound and ISK for ISK,the TT-3 is THE best pistol,if not the single best weapon in the game.Value,power consumption,and damage make this thing my top choice.It isn't without shortcomings,but what is,but I just find it to be close to perfection. |

Now now, that's a bold statement
I have learned that there is no best pistol. The TT-3 has increased ROF and range, great, but it costs more CPU/PG as a sidearm and also has terrible hipfire. The TY-5 is the most powerful hard hitting pistol you have. I frequent the TY-5 when there are an abundance of heavies. CAR-9 Burst Pistol is a beast, it has the highest DPS of the pistols if you can land the shots of course. It's hipfire is pretty bad but not useless. I have killed many via hipfire with CAR-9. Then you have the good ol' nilla, the KLO-1, the Viziam. They are classic and none of the other variants seems to infringe on that.
Do not underestimate the IA5. The IA5 is basically the TT-3 but for less damage. You got good range, RoF, and the easy flowing CPU/PG unlike the TT-3. The zoom fidelity is pretty helpful. At first I thought it was more novelty, like you, but I used it enough and it really does allow you to line up better headshots or longer distances. And when you're up close and nasty you can pray and spray just like the TT-3 but again less damage. But the lesser damage means squat when you are skilled with the Pistol.

I'd be very interested to know if anyone did get a proto breach, as a corpmate of mine who mains ScP ran the TY-5 for a large part of the event in hopes he would receive the proto, but wound up getting nothing for his efforts. |

Better question: why did they take teh IA5 Tactical Scrambler Pistol off the market, ad why is it still scavengable ?
