Because nothing is more annoying then trying to land a drop ship beside one. Or finding out that the only protected supply depot in your red line is in some infantry only area. (ontop of a building, or in one of those ditches) Which makes your burning, ammo deplete vehicle useless, and unable to be recalled. Oh, and don't even try to hop out to switch to a fit with a repair gun to try and save it. The blue berry that's ALREADY trying to hop into your single seat tank will likely take it.

I think the problem is that the AoE is nearly horizontal only and has no vertical direction. The one supply depot that bothers me tremendously is in the small socket "security checkpoint" (I believe it's called) because it's on the edge of the roof of the building. I've managed to even prop up my HAV against the outside wall, but was still unable to get resupplied because I'm not on the same level as the supply depot.

It's made resupplying in a dropship a certified art, which I am rather good at, but I completely agree that it's obnoxious.
On many maps, I literally have to be touching the depot with my ship in order to start being resupplied.

Or make it so you don't have to be exactly on the same height.
The distance is fine It's just that you have to practically park next to it.

Lack of foresight on CCPs part right here. Hey lets make vehicles require ammo but not alter how the depots work or add any that are accessible. I took it as a challenge with my Incubus but I'd rather not be exposed that long.

This really has to suck for DS pilots
I seem to recall someone mentioning a thought about the MCC functioning as a supply depot for DS, thought it was a neat idea. Not a permanent solution, but until fixes are done it might serve.

The majority of all Depots are completely un-accessible to land vehicles. |

I had been pushing CCP on this several weeks before the launch of 1.7 as a likely problem. It's still a bummer to see nothing has been open addressed by the DEVs on this point. then and now.

We brought this point up to the CPM and DEVs before 1.7. Tanks and Lavs can't climb stairs to reach supply axis. However little was addressed or reciprocated on this mater.

Additionally, there needs to be a visual indication to the range of the supply depots' armor/ammo replenishment sphere. This mechanic could be tuned to only show up on a vehicle user's screen.
